Im thinking of doing the same and am also stock, did you see the estimated 1MPG decrease with the K02 265/70/17's?

Great post, I was thinking of pickin up some mamba 17x9 m13s for my 15 TE. Could I run 275s & 17x9s on stock KDSS w no problems?

I have a 2012 Limited and at a point where I need new tires in about 5,000 miles. I hate the fact that LE came with such narrow tires (245/60/20). I want beefier AT tires, however I was thinking initially of going to the 275/55/20 tires on stock LE 20 inch wheels...the problem is that Discount Tire would not install those tires on a 7 inch wheel do to safety issues. I know the threads that show that people have used the 275/55/20 tires on LE wheels, however due to safety and carrying kids I'm kind of scared to do this on my own. The other option is to buy 17 inch wheels (FN fx Pro) and get 265/70/17 tires. Last option would be is to do a Toytec leveling kit, get 275/70/17 tires with the FN fx Pro wheels. The main dilemma is cost...i really want the SUV to look less like a soccer mom car but don't want to put too much into it as it has about 90,000 miles (I know this is still low for a 4runner). Just wanted everyone's thoughts and recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Need a little help here. I'm looking at some XD Hoss 2s. Sticking with 17 inch and was wanting to keep stock tires for now (will do new tires later...can only convince the wife of so much at once). The stock tires are 265/70R17 with a 7 inch rim.
Looking at the chart that's frequently posted it wouldn't be a problem with no offset. But...Issue is - Hoss 2 is 9 inch width and -12mm offset. The guy at discount said it will look really weird mounting that tire on that wheel. I also saw a post on here the other day where someone said a lot of Toyota specific wheel places have stopped carrying 9 inch wheels because of frequent rubbing issues.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Here is what mine looks like with 17x9 -12. The issue down the road is finding 265 tires that are factory rated for a 9" wide wheel.

That doesn't look bad at all, thanks! Looks like you'll be putting 285s on which will require a lift. Do you know if 275s require modification? It just seems like SO many of the aftermarket wheels are 17x9.

Yea I'll be lifting mine. I was just at the shop getting the quote for lift and tires!
The 285s provide the greatest variations for 17x9 wheels. You'll be limited on the manufacture suggested width with 265s or 275s. That's not to say there aren't any just fewer from what I've found.

Awesome! Thanks for your help. I'm just hesitant to lift yet while still under warranty, car is so new, etc. I'll do some looking around at future tire options.

Did you end up having to remove the little mud flaps or was there enough clearance to avoid rubbing those?

I'm currently running the stock Dunlops which are 265s rated for 9" wheels. There is not fitment issues with them. I will have to modify the front fender and mudflaps once I lift and put 285s.

It's not paint, it's stickers with a UV clear coat on top.
