So here I am trying to prep for my lift install this weekend and well I ran into a small dilema. I paid Toytec to do the front assembly but the rear shocks needed the bushings installed. I figured I could easily get it done my one of my C-clamps, this was not the case as the contact point of the threaded end is a ball joint and wobbled around too much along with the tapered bushing.
So here is my $6 Lowes busing installer. the "PVC thread adder" was the best part of it because it helped keep the bushing straight while it was pulled through. It could probably work without this and save a buck or two but it helped keep things straight for me.
Parts:
Assembly takes 10 seconds tightening down takes a about another 10. Also a little bit of silicone lubricant helps too! I am also sure this will work in the reverse fashion to remove except the large washer on the end of the PVC adapter and a smaller washer that would pass all the way through the eye of the shock. - 3/8 16x6 bolt ( two pack)
- 3/8 16 nut
- 2 x 3/8 washer 1.5"
- 1 x Bigger washer
- 1.5" PVC thread adder?
