Today I got a good look at a 2025 TRD ORP. The MSRP was 58,000+. What bothered me most, was the obvious cost-cutting throughout the vehicle. It also actually felt a bit more cramped than my 5th gen TRD ORP.
The 6th gen TRD ORP does not have the sway bar disconnect as an option. My 5th gen TRD ORP has KDSS, which I really like. It drastically improves handling on-road, and axle articulation is much better on the trail, vs a Non-KDSS 5th gen, IME.
I really do want to like the 6th gen, but so far I'm just lukewarm on it. Maybe they'll upgrade materials and options as time goes on.
With regards to price.
In 1997 I bought a new 3rd gen SR5, V6, 4wd, 5-speed manual, rear diff locker, Moonroof, factory leather, premium sound, etc. It's MSRP was $34,000+.
According to the Consumer Price Index, that is equivalent to just over $67,000 today. About the same MSRP as a 6th gen TRD Pro, or Trailhunter.
Putting in the MSRP of my 5th gen TRD ORP, into the CPI calculator, it is almost exactly the same as the MSRP of the 6th gen TRD ORP I looked at today.
