Guys I'm with [MENTION=50828]turbodudey2[/MENTION] here, I am too lazy/don't care enough to do the full calculations, but what he is saying is all backed up by what we are taught in our engineering courses and by the material specs. I would have no problem running these links, but from a pure costing standpoint I would still go steel.

And what is up with people assuming he is going to make these out of Al tube!? You can join 2 different metals together, but he wouldn't have to because he isn't using tube!

I mean it's stated in the 4th post that I was going to use 7075 T6 rod. I don't think I ever once said anything about tube. Even people without an engineering degree should know that's not a good idea.

Any rod end that is zinc coated will mitigate any concern with corrosion as well (galvanic or otherwise).
