87 With Terrible Body lift!

Hey everyone i am looking for a bit of advice. First of details on my rig. 1987 4runner 4x4 22**** miles. 5 speed Currently has 32/11.5r15s on stock wheels. With a 3" Body lift. Zuk mod rear and slightly cranked torsion bars front recently rebuilt engine. Runs great drives great. I have a set of 305/70r16s on 16x8 steelies with 4.25" Back spacing. I am removing the running boards tomorrow. I am wondering Is there any way to hide or make the body lift look better or should the Tires do that idk why but i am completely drawn to the body lift and think it looks terrible. I got the truck for a steal and couldn't pass(body lift or not). Are there companies that cater specifically to Yotas with body lifts, for bumpers and such? Any one else got a 3" body lift, how does your rig look post some pictures. Thanks for any help.

10 or so years ago there was a company called Lift Lips that made a liner to cover the noticeable gap that body lifts left between the frame.

It looks like 4Wheel parts has something similar
Body Lift Gap Guard - 4 Wheel Parts

Seems like you could make something similar out of some rubber matt or something similar.

Or yank the body lift and do a suspension lift
 
Looked into removing the body lift and between extensions for radiator, gas tank filler,(there are a few others i am forgetting) and the rust in certain areas around the body lift. I think i am just gonna try to live with it. But i very well may end up pulling it for a 1" Body lift and see if i can make whats there work.
 
Took my girls or today to explore a bit. Took the side steps off. Looks so much better now.

IF, and only IF, a body lift raises fuel tank and the transfer case relative to the bottom of the frame, I like it.
Otherwise, I would remove it, too.
 
The biggest benefit i can find on having this body lift is, all of my suspension angles are good and there is no binding from the front end. 33s come in tomorrow so maybe that will make things look better.
 
I second, or third in this case, to removing the lift. You can definitely get by with the 32's on stock suspension, especially with the stock wheels.
 
Your truck looks 1000 times better without the side steps. It looks pretty good. I've always been a little concerned about changing the center of gravity on an already tippy vehicle, if it's mainly used on roads and highways. I almost bought a 4Runner with a body lift and researched how to remove it. 4Crawler has good instructions on how to install a body lift and obviously removal would be a reverse of it.

If you're going to keep the lift you can search for "Gap guards" and there are a ton of people who have made them from rubber mats, pond liners and truck inner tubes. You can also clean the undercarriage really well and shoot cheap black spray paint under there.
 
Thanks for the tips and compliments. I will be looking into flat bellying it so i can justify leaving the lift LOL

AHA! so that's what it's called. Didn't know that until now - LOL!
I had always liked the 1995–2004 Tacoma for it's flat belly even if stock. The first-gen 4Runner is disappointing in that aspect; Nice stock wheel and frame ground clearance but the transfer case and fuel tank sticking out... :wtf:

Good ole ups. decided to delay my delivery they will be in tonight and on tomorrow morning. Dang ole ups messing with my plans man.
 
Bald 265/75r16 on the wheels I picked up for 120$ they will be getting 305/70r16s tomorrow. Gonna need some spacers to widen this thing out to make it more stable.

And they are in! Surprisingly quiet for such agressive tread. Like dead silent.
