I recently ordered some LED pods from Oznium. I wired them through the rear hatch and placed a switch where the dust cover locks into place. These are going to be awesome for camping as they will provide overhead lighting when the hatch is up and im digging through my gear and interior lighting when I close the hatch and go to sleep in the back of the Runner. I installed my Blue Sea Fuse Block and "custom" mounting panel while I was at it. Have a look:

The LED's are WAY brighter than I imagined they would be!!

Your LED's look great. Doesn't look like there are any hotspots. At the risk of being an ass and asking for something lots of people have posted, can you post the list of LED's you used and where you got them? I have the same climate control as you and half my lights are out.

As for the Kaboom mod, from personal experience, i thought id offer a suggestion, and im not sure if you saw this thread or not, but.... the plastic from the bottle is gonna make you clock a little blurry and a little bit harder to see due to the thickness and clarity of the bottle. I have come up with a great solution to this. I am also currently selling these color swatches with almost any color. Or if you just want to do it on your own go to your local studio performing arts store and get the product yourself here is my clock with a red swatch

Thanks, I got the colour scheme from "GottaBeTRD" haha, the picture he posted below is actually the one that made me think, "hey I want a red/white two-tone LED instruments!"

Thanks! Yah, I have a Canon Rebel XSi. I have a few lenses but my "fave" and newest lense is my Canon 24-105L f/4. Its WAAAYYYY too nice, seems effortless sometimes!

Thanks for the heads up. I actually ended up going to a craft store and buying a roll of transparent purple gift wrap. Its very thin, therefore not making the clock too dull and blurry but still turning the illumination white.

I looked at your swatch thread a lot and tried to find some locally but I couldnt find any!!

Thanks! Yah im pumped with the LEDs. The headunit is an IDA-X100. the exact model is discontinued but you can get the new variations still. The new ones are not as nice looking IMO. You can prob still find them on eBay, its been a great deck. It only plays Ipod/USB/radio but it's cool cause it shows album art on the screen! kinda cool.

KM2's are on. They look great but i'm worried the tires are gunna have troubles stuffing in the wells due to "no lift" and the more aggressive width/backspacing of the LC80 wheels. Tomorrow when I wake up = poser flex shots to check my clearances..... a lift may be in need sooner than I hoped!!

Thanks man! I know, I live in Alberta Canada and the LC80 wheels had to be imported from New Jersey!! You should just look at Craigslist in the states. I paid $400 for the wheels after I drove across the border and picked them up. Fair price for bombproof and rare wheels IMO.

I flexed out the rear end with my jack and it looks like the tires are going to clear the fenders, but barely. So, do I buy a OME lift (dont want to cause ive alredy spent way too much on this thing this already) or drop $120 and get a 1" bodylift and eliminate my rubbing worries forever??? decisions...

Got some new audio equipment installed in the 4Runner today. I got a super sick deal from my roommate who used to work at Future Shop (and now at Best Buy). I got some Energy 6.5" for the front and Energy 5.25" for the rears. Both sets are full component setups with tweeters and crossovers. I have not heard much about the Energy car audio line-up but I know that their home audio stuff is absolutely superb, so I thought I would give em a shot, plus the deal couldnt be beat.

Fronts:

I cut the factory tweeter grills out and installed the Energy tweets in their place, looks hella clean IMO.

Rears:

Overall I am surprisingly impressed. I did not amp the speakers and may not now, considering how crisp and great these things sound!!

haha thanks man! No write-up that I know of on the LED's, I should have made one when I did it. It's pretty easy, even considering that I didnt tap into the rear window motor for power, i went straight to the battery. If you decide to do it, let me know and I can give you some tips.

Awesome, you cant go wrong with a canon SLR. Definitely get some good glass when you are able to, as it makes a WORLD of difference.

FYI - The 50mm f/1.8 lens aka "the nifty fifty" is only $100 new. It is known for having outstanding sharpness and image quality at a ridiculously low price. It's just made of plastic like a pop bottle. Check it out if you need something that blurs backgrounds like crazy, is tack sharp, and doesnt cost much!
