A cheap way to beef up the rear LCAs!!

This mod is very simple and effective but it's not super sexy by any means. I did this on my 80 twelve years ago and the rear LCAs are still straight. I used a 1"x1"x1/4" angle iron and simply stitch welded them to the LCAs. I didn't see a need to full weld them and risk warpage of the LCAs. Silicone caulk was used to fill in the rest of the gap in order to insure water/crud tightness. As a precaution, a wet rag was used to cool down the bushing holder on the ends just in case.

Total time was an hour and cost was $12 for the angle iron.

BlackWorksInc did this too, looked like he did a full weld seam.

Looks like a good way to beef up the arms, I need to do this.

It is a good way to reinforce them.

I ground the ends of my angle iron to match the curve of the bushing loops and then did alternating lengths after I tacked it in place. Mostly for practice since I hadn't run a bead in a few years. But stitch welding them like you did should work perfectly fine.
