Looks like one of my papers from years ago...

A) 1.72m , the guy basically did the problem, not sure why he stopped. set those equal to each other and solve for X
B) frictionless ramp means the block will return to its original height and then slide back down, repeating an infinite loop.

C) the ramp is frictionless, the elephant wouldn't stop the block.....

Granted its been awhile since dynamics but that looks/sounds right to me

C'mon man. It's unsolvable. Why? Because even though the ramp is frictionless, the spring force will gradually weaken, eventually causing the weight (and a crumpled mangled elephant) sitting motionless against the end of the spring.
