Okay, then we need to locate it, perhaps under a different name. If worst comes to bad, you can just disconnect the NEG battery term for the same result.

I can't imaging why the HU would need a 30A line fuse to support it... Unless... that's the very same fuse used to energize the Subwoofer's power amplifier as well! I think I'll purchase the 'Mitchell Manuals' electrical drawings for the 2014 4Runner 'Limited' (2015 not yet available); I already have the 2011... 2012 diagrams were unavailable at the time that I bought the 4Runner. Rgds!

You very well be onto something as my T4R does not have a JBL system nor a subwoofer. But, I would think there has to be a main fuse to protect the HU, we just don't have it identified yet!

I just noticed something, it may mean something or not.
Look in the same section where you have your "30A AMP" Fuse.
Your RAD No1 fuse is a 10A and you have 2 more 7.5A fuses as well.
Now look at my fuses and cover. I have no 7.5A fuses, but do have a 20A RAD No1 fuse.
I haven't tried it, but am wondering if that is our HU fuse.....

A) if the update done using a smartphone is actually the entire update?
B) when they started putting the newest version(5) in at the factory?
C) if there are different updates for different year models ('10-'13/'14-'15)?
D) Now we are talking about fuses!?!?

I am inclined to buy a head unit with apple play and be done with entune once and for all. I can never get YELP or other apps to work. It's a giant piece of crap. The one time I took it to the dealer to have them address it, of course it worked so they looked at me like I was an idiot.
I tried the USB install with my feb 2015 built trail with no luck. Maybe I already have the newest version(but it still blows)? But there's no way to tell that I am aware of.

2014 4Runner electrical diagrams here
Okay folks, here's what's happening...
I decided to invest a lil' extra effort into this subject ENTUNE UPDATES because imho too many of you (my brothers from some other mothers), are still having trouble from your entune systems; and w/o any true support from Toyota! I just added the 2014 Toyota 4Runner (LE addition) electrical system diagrams to my account... the 2015 is not available at this time... I think that we're going to need them as newer models begin to evolve as we are seeing here. And here are the 'Radio circuit' drawings:
Page 1 of 3: There have been some changes; which is why we couldn't find that darn 30A Amp fuse! It's now become a 20A fuse labeled... Rad-1 fuse (Rad for radio). You can follow the Blue trace; which represents the ACC circuit fuse and is still located in the driver-side fusebox... no real changes there. Note: Lines number 5 and 6 (where they enter/leave the pages on either side) are the ones to watch!
Page 2 of 3: Here's pg two. It shows the radio's power supply, it's junctions, and fuses. See the Pink circle, pink trace mimicked by a dark blue dotted line.
The 'candidate (fuse) of interest' is at the top circled in pink and surnamed... RAD-1, 20A fuse. It resides under the hood in the Main fusebox. And then we have pg #three below:
This trace begins at the 20A fuse and travels over to pg 3 where it joins the HU's 'B term'. Again, the reason that I got involved with fuses is because I believe those 20A fuses need to be pulled for a complete circuit drain, and 'File Clean-up' i.e., system restore, in hopes that your HU will then be able to receive a O.S. update! Hope this will be helpful!

You guessed it Keith! And again... I posted way too slow hahaha! I just added the 2014 4R electrical circuit to this thread to help out! That 20A RAD-1 is our HU fuse; formally known as 30A Amp fuse. If you can, pull it out tonight before going to bed lol! At least by tomorrow you'll have a completely Restored to default hu. My fingers are crossed that you'll be able to receive the latest OS update!

The update that loads via your cell phone is to update just the apps, much the way your phone does to it's apps. The operating system gets updated through the usb port. The reason for all the talk of fuses and electrical systems is we want to prove or disprove that the 2014 thru 2015 hu's are the very same as the early 5'th gen hu's. I have considered that the 2014 model either already has the latest update, preventing any further updating or, the cashe is in need of a Restore to default clean-up by pulling the 'Constant' power fuse from the hu, letting it's circuit drain, and starting over. I've had success in times when my entune system was misbehaving e.g., phone/Bluetooth connectivity issues, audio system freezes, map screen unrelated with actual location of vehicle... so by pulling the fuse, I've been able to avoid a trip to the dealership on several occasions. Well, I didn't get to read this until this AM, so I think I will pull the fuse and see what happens today.
To confirm, this fuse kills the power to the HU!
Now awaiting the 3~4hrs before trying the update procedure. Hopefully it will take it. ( I will re-format the FlashDrive and install the file to make sure )

Understood. What confuses me is that when I did the update on my phone it did an update on my head unit much like the one posted above with the load bars. Is that just the apps within entune?

To confirm that fuse... Yes! I really hope this works, I've been extremely frustrated over the last 3 yrs concerning the entune issues. So now I have the "latest update"... so they say(?). I'd like to see you guys having the very same thing so you can enjoy your new trucks as you had intended! PS: [MENTION=64999]mdrudy[/MENTION] posted that he had pulled the RAD-1 fuse after waiting 3 hrs, but the 'sound settings' didn't reset; meaning that he didn't wait long enough.
Now he has to do the whole thing over! So try to wait as long as possible to re-install the fuse... I've always pulled it over night to be sure, so I don't know exactly how long it takes, but it's more than an hr! I'll be waiting to here some GOOD NEWS from you and the others!! Best!

Hi Hayden,
No, if it did that then you got the O.S. 5.1 update!!! I think you can check by going to "Settings>General>update history>... and look for a build vers." I'm really not familiar with this part of entune; just learning, but their are others here that are FARRR more qualified to help with that!

Looks like I will try the 4 hrs if time permits and I don't have to move the T4R, & see what happens.
Otherwise, if I do, I will pull the fuse tonight and start over. :boom:

You know you can still drive the truck with the fuse pulled w/o compromising the reset; you just won't have use of the audio system.

Ok, I had the fuse pulled for 6.5 hrs.
Although it took longer for the HU to come up to speed, like it was reloading all the data, the XM Sound Settings didn't go back to default settings.
Also, after plugging in the flash drive, it didn't recognize it nor it's .iso file.

So, tonight before turning in, I'll give it another try pulling the fuse.
Will inform as to how many hrs it will be without power to the HU!
