A Pillar Gauges? Airbag?

Has anyone done a mod for installing A-Pillar gauges, or tested/figured out if it would interfere with the airbag?

I was driving to my ranch this weekend and was thinking about mods, and this one crossed my mind because I would love to have my battery voltmeter where I could see it, maybe an altimeter as I will be taking this to Colorado/Montana/Utah at some point for some exploring (not to mention the elevation changes out in West Texas around Big Bend/Fort Davis/Alpine...) - hence the idea for A-Pillar gauges like you see on some of the larger Ford and Dodges.

Just an idea?

the airbag when deployed goes out on the window side of the a pillar, but you still probably don't want anything on the actual a pillar

i installed a scangauge above the rearview mirror :
