A Question For Those of You Who Have Used a Washer To Stop High Idle

My truck : 97 4runner 5spd v6 4wd

Having high idle after cleaning throttle body. The cause is the little bit of 'slack' that was made after cleaning the gunk out.

I know about the trick to put a washer in the back of the throttle body 'spring' mechanism however I cannot figure out how to get it on. I cannot remove the entire spring assembly because it wont budge. I undid the 1 nut on the front and that doesn't seem to loosen anything.

I'm trying to slide the throttle spring thing off and slide a washer on.

I referenced this guide: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/123396-my-high-idle-cured.html

How the heck is he getting a washer on the back? Any ideas? He said you do not have to remove the entire TB assembly..

I fixed it.

For future reference for anybody wanting to fix their high idle after a cleaning--

The spring unit will come off after removing just the 1 nut in front. I had to get a chisel and lightly hammer it a bit to get it to move.
