About rear sag

Hey guys,
I have a '97 SR5 2wd with 181k on it. It rides like crap. Just bought it about a month ago and when I had the pre-sale inspection done, the mechanic told me that my rear shocks are bent. I pretty much want to replace the entire suspension (rear & front) with my $500 student budget, don't know if that's plausible. Sorry if this stuff is posted somewhere else, so many threads with different info.
I am planning on getting 4 '99 (Tall) springs to replace the original ones.

99 spring part numbers:
Front Passenger Side Springs - Blue / Yellow (48131-35400)
Front Driver Side Springs - Blue / Pink (48131 - 35350)
Both Rear Springs - Yellow / Red (48231 - 35210)
I just need help on purchasing shocks for the front and rear. I know the Bilsteins are nice, but seem pricey. Any other suggestions? (I use this car as a daily driver, don't need expensive off-roading shocks).
Also plan on doing the work myself, any special tools i will need? Helpful tips?
Last thing, any other repairs I should do while I've got it lifted up? Thanks for any feedback, you guys are awesome!

I have a 2001 . for me I ordered 906 emu springs. I'm using my stock shocks
The ride is much better with the 906 springs . Has a nice rake in the rear but doesn't look bad . I will eventually change out the front springs to bring the front up , but for now everything is good

the documents are not there anymore can you repost or something please?
I planned on replacing my coil springs because my ride has the original suspension parts on (Even after 274K) and then I came across this thread. Called Toyota and they told me the recall had never been performed on my vehicle so I get a free set of springs!
Going to buy some KYB Gas-a-just to replace the originals. One less thing to worry about!:banana::banana:

To follow up on this post...
I went to my local stealership and waited an hour and a half to finally have them tell me the part numbers for our 3rd gens had been discontinued. According to the part numbers (2) they gave me they were.
- 04001-45135 - Hollow Spring + Bumper Kit
- 04001-45435 - Coil Spring Kit
Anyway, I left frustrated and later found out those part numbers were the ones they discontinued.. :mad2: The lady I was working with told me they would contact me after their parts manager contacted Toyota.
The good news is that she called earlier and told me I was right about the new part numbers and they had ordered them, should be here in the next couple of days. Should have them installed this weekend. Life is good after all.:biggrin2: Going to put some KYB Gas-A-Justs on once I get the springs lined out.

What's current consensus on this? I have major sag. Moog coils are 60 bucks a pair. airlift is 100. I don't know what the OME coils cost.
So, put in the new moogs?
Put in the airlift in my old coils?
I am not sure I can afford the OME coils since I will need front struts soon as well.
I need to get the rear end up before deer season.
My truck is not listed as eligible for the recall, but I don't see that it was done in the service history either.

If you really look around you can do the rear for about 225-250 total. There are guy always selling springs around here and shocks and not to bad either.

I just starting looking again today. Have been riding the motorcycle lately.
I have about a month to get it done. I'll keep checking.

Yesterday I signed up on toyota.com/owners with my 12/96 (Birthdate in Japan) and it immediately red flagged me after I entered my VIN for a recall notice. Called the dealership. They had to do a little research and call me back but I have an appointment next week for the install.

Just dropped off my 97. The parts they are putting on mine, how they described it, was like a smaller coil inside the coil with a new different looking bump stop. I think the 4WD's get a new coil kit altogether.
