The can I bought has a place to put mesh if you wish to do so. I personally don't and I have my own proof that it works. Does it catch it all? No idea honestly but it certainly works based upon my findings after only 2000 miles.

April 11th 2018 was my last oil change. Exactly 5018 miles brought us to today, January 11th 2019 which means I was due for an oil change. I can say my catch can is absolutely doing it's job and worth every penny. Can was full with about 3" of water and grime. Looked just like it did when I drained it at 2000 miles, just a lot more in there this time. Anyone that is once fence about this mod absolutely needs to do it.

Mine is by no means a headache. Canister spins right off, it has a dipstick to check the level if I want to, takes a few minutes to wipe out, spray out, put back on. I love knowing it's there and knowing that cream colored crap is not all over the inside of my intake. It's a mix of mostly water and some oil and it's sticky and chunky. Not something I want getting into the engine.

Hose that comes with it is not vacuum line, it can't be used. Go to NAPA or whatever and pick up some real vacuum line. Other than that, I love it and it does it's job very well.

Any specific type of line/hose to look for? It seems hard to find the right kind of hose with the correct temperature rating and ability to not collapse under vacuum.

It costs money.
It's something else to service.
No other manufacturers are doing it.
Most people have no idea why they're useful.
Some DIY idiot would fill it with oil like an overflow reservoir, causing the engine to ingest more oil.
I am actually somewhat surprised Ford didn't include something like it on their EcoBoost.

What inlet to use: upper or lower?
On intake manifold I see two inlets, one above another, lower, where hose from PCV valve terminated. I prefer to use upper one for oil can.
Upper inlet plugged, not sure both the same "internally".
Anyone knows are they the same? (sorry picture upside down)

You use the one that goes from the PCV valve to the intake manifold, this is the only way to do it. Go from the PCV valve into the catch can, out of the catch can into the intake manifold.

LOL do what you want. There is only one right way to do it, and that would be the way I explained it. Your truck though, have at it. Do you know what a catch can is for? It catches oil and water vapor that is vented out of the crank case. That vent is the PCV system which vents into the intake manifold for emissions reasons. The point is to put the catch can between the crank case and intake manifold so all that crap doesn't end up in the manifold and on your valves. What do I know though? :usa2:
