Pretty sure the OP moved to Colorado
I believe one of the injectors needed cleaning, it should not have been that smokey. I agree, amazing truck.Despite the intense oil burner smoke screen while wheeling it, I rather liked the LC he had.

Yes! Acme does offer a V6 kit! Which motor are you doing? I'm going to actually run an automatic when I start the project behind a BEW. Keep me posted with your details!Do you happen to know if ACME has an adapter kit for the V6 R150f to the 1.9 TDI motor? I am working on my swap at the moment and that's the crucial part to this. 22-re plate isn't an option (running drivers side diff) and the R151 Bellhousing is ridiculously hard to find. Thanks man. I hope to see your diesel build come to fruition as well. For myself, doing the 4wd swap at the same time as the TDI over doing a turbo on the 3rz and then doing the swap, totally worth the money. I would have spent more money on the 3rz vs the TDI because I need a new trans either way, why not put money where it counts and get an already stellar turbo setup?! Winning!
So do we ever actually get to see proof that this new 4runner exists? Cause I mean your last diesel conversion was soo amazing...Yes! Acme does offer a V6 kit! Which motor are you doing? I'm going to actually run an automatic when I start the project behind a BEW. Keep me posted with your details!

Glad your back.
Sweet, another swap!! I just sent you a pm.*you're
It very much exists, but I learned my lesson about being a big fat liar last time, so I'm not posting crap until it's finished this time. I'm doing a full build thread on a private server so I don't forget anything, and then when it's finished I'll copy here.

I highly recommend sticking with electronic control. M-tdi is a massive step backwards in technology. You lose all the flexibility of electronic tuning, monitoring, etc. You also lose VNT turbo, which IMO is mandatory on offroad vehicles for that low down, instant torque. You lose the phenomenal OEM reliability that the ALH is known for. And finally, you lose 50 state legality by not keeping it factory and losing EGR.I am going to run the ALH. I can't seem to find any AHU engines. I just received an email from the guys over at ACME on the buying process for the v6 adapter kit and I'll be buying it here in a couple weeks! Again, I am planning on running a 1.9 TDI-M (Manual injector pump) in order to bypass a lot of the ECM wiring and tap into my wiring harness only at crucial points. I would like to keep all of my factory electronics and I am talking to a gentleman names jimbote or something close to that, over on the TDI forum. Just registered over there. I am already 5 speed so it makes sense to keep it that way. I'll be running the 3.4l clutch and flywheel. Www. Car-part.com has been an excellent resource for me to find trans. Parts. Manual injector pump is a must for me and I've found several motors with them! I feel that motor mount fab is probably one of the easier factors in this swap. I was utterly confused when I was on ACME's website unable to find the v6 adapter, but they reassured me that they've got them. absalom let me know if you want links to all of the V6 builds they have as references, they gave me lists of threads including all of the best work they've seen with their adapters.
So essentially there is a company making your harness? What is that running you? You've made me reconsider the Electronic injection atleast. It would be nice to run VCDS. Let me take a look at the immobilizer delete. Could you shoot me the price of your harness? (P.S. I hope to have this project completed in a span of 9 months, between October and next July. I am driving out to CO in the 4runner, we absolutely MUST meetup to get together as two TDI 4runners. What'ya say?)I highly recommend sticking with electronic control. All it takes to retain factory electronics is a simple $50 immobilizer delete. Don't want to wire the rest yourself? Do what I'm doing and have Fast-forward automotive build you a complete, plug n' play, standalone harness.
Mechanical injection is NOT more reliable, but it is less economical, less powerful, and much less flexible. My Land Cruiser was mechanical direct injection, after a year with it, I much preferred interacting with the TDI computer via VCDS.
....
It's less than the cost of your manual IP, and about 1000x easier to install. Text me your email address and I'll shoot you over the detailed proposal they sent me.So essentially there is a company making your harness? What is that running you?
