I had no cold air so I hooked a manifold gauge to my AC system. Pressures were very low. I bought some R134a and added it going by pressures. It took over 18 oz and pressures were then low normal. AC is now very cold. Could I have overfilled although I followed pressures? Should I evacuate and recharge by volume? Thanks.

No, you should be good.
on a hot 105* day, @ 2,000 RPM my low side drops to 25psi and my high is 250-325psi.

Factory Specification is 600 ± 30 g (21.16 ± 1.06 oz.) So depending on how much was in the system (which you don't have too much of an idea without evacuating and recovering it properly so there's nothing in the system) it may be under-filled, close enough, or slightly over-filled. Not to mention you may have too much moisture in the system now if there was a leak and the pressure equalized with the atmosphere.

If you are going to charge by pressure the first thing that you need to do is make sure you have proper airflow. Clean the condenser, change the cabin filter, and possibly the evaporator. Based upon what you have stated, no leaks and you charged the system I would look to airflow first as the problem. A/C is a closed system, it doesn't burn up refrigerant. Only way to lose it is through a leak.
My advice would be to check the airflow and clean. Then put gauges on and see where your pressure is. Make sure your pressure is in accordance with ambient air temp- the ambient temp should be taken at the condenser.

IF your system was blowing warm air due to be low, then you do have a leak. perhaps a very slow leak, but a leak nonetheless.

Use some Simple green 1:3 with water, or some other degreaser/cleaner you may have on hand. Let that sit for about 5 minutes and then use a water hose with no nozzle and flush by running the water through left to right from top to bottom.
