So what was the problem?

apparently in the steering column where the wheel tilts, there was a gap that was allowing the noise to come straight through. When I drive I have the steering wheel down and when my wife drives she has it up where the gap would be. THey sealed this off and there is no noise now.

Glad everything worked out.

There are three Toyota dealerships within 30 minutes of my house. I'm purchasing my 4R from the one that has the "Master Technician" all the others have "Toyota Certified Technicians"

Can somebody enlighten us on the difference?

apparently the "toyota certified technicians" say that nothings wrong and "Master Technician" fixes problems. At least thats my experience.

well, there are some bad and some good doctors, too.
Even out of the same medical schools.

TCT means that an associate took a basic training. anyone can do that, and it is the person's diligence to grow from there. Many techs choose not to.

Master Techs are experienced, with higher level of knowledge/education.
