Add Ducting to Send Air to Back Passenger Area?

I've got my rear seats folded down 90% of the time. I just keep them down for the dogs so that we can quickly load them and take them.

With the seats folded down, the vent that sends air to the back passenger area ends up sending the air directly into the folded seat. The middle seat (folded forward) stays really cool, but the air isn't getting to the pups.

Does anyone know a way to force the air from the vents to go up and over the folded seats? I'm thinking of some type of plastic duct that can be added on/clipped on that would reroute the air over the seat.

Crazy request, I know.

Could you just shut off the rear vent (using the shut off control between the two vents). Then divert one or two of the front vents up towards the ceiling and to the back cargo area? Also shut off the air flow to the leg / floor area. I know it's not what you're asking for, but it's cheap and doesn't require any fabrication effort.

you could buy one of those mini clip on fans and plug it up to the back outlet. Keep the switch to on so all you have to do is press the power button in front to turn it on. I was going to do this when ever I go camping or fishing to have a fan in the back.

Awesome. Not sure if I'll tear into it or do like [MENTION=95552]acab4runner[/MENTION] suggested and just run a fan in the back. I'm sure I could suspend it somehow and just leave it plugged in. Hit the power button when I climb in and have instant air flow for the pups.

Still... fabricating a vent redirection sounds intriguing. Then again, either myself or my 4Runner will end up like this... :crutch:

I'm sure I could suspend it somehow and just leave it plugged in.

A good way to suspend it would be to remove the coat hook on the passenger side back there and replace it with a D-ring. I replaced both those hooks with D-rings from an FJC to connect a cargo net.
