Does that kit go together pretty easily? I hope to one day do it myself, just wondering if it is easy for the DIY'er with welding expirience

scotty i know you rep TG's stuff but what's your honest opinion on the TG rock assult axle, i've heard good and bad things so ii would be nice to heard it from someone in the business.

The early axles were pure crap IMHO. I would have never run one personally. Blunt enough?

However, they have stepped up their game dramatically over the last year and redesigned a lot in regards to how they are made. Now, my opinion has changed. They are a good axle NOW. Still not a Diamond, but getting much better.

At this point, if I thought they weren't good enough, he wouldn't be running it. They have solved their breather issues, fitment issues, leaking issues, etc, and these newer versions are definitely worth running if you don't want to pony up for a Diamond and can deal with Tacoma width.

Diamond is still the way to go when running custom widths or single case IMO. TG needs to figure out how to start rotating these for a better pinion angle for those guys running a single case. But, with the high pinion 3rd, they are manageable.

I would run one in one of my person rigs now though if I had the need.

It's a loaded question. This is a lot more involved than the earlier SAS kits. If you have the tools you can do it, but there is a much bigger learning curve with these kits. And a lot more custom work.

Great to hear! i've notice the quality of the welds too when i got my TG bumper. all the welds are nice, some are little cold but still way better than their old stuff. the lazer work is awesome too. i"ll wait till you finish this rig and make my choice. thanks for the response. can't wait to see the end result of yours.

Can't wait to see finished product. I would consider a leaf sprung 3rd Gen 4runner. Dealing with the 3 link is too much for me to deal with.
