Well, its different for sure. Still extremely capable. We're still working out some minor bugs. We had an issue with the ARBs leaking somewhere. So, we need to dial all that in.

Keep in mind, that I don't have much seat time at all in it either though. This is Glade's 4runner.

I will say that on-road handling is very good though. He kept up with me in my son's 98' 4runner 5spd no problem on the mountain roads heading up there.

After that wheeling trip, has the owner had a chance to check the frame height to see if it settled at all since the install?

It settled to 27" already. Should settle a little more too.

Its going to go more too. We are adding a rear tire carrier and some rear corner armor to the rear pretty soon. As well as pulling a leaf up front to lower it.

Got some pics of how its currently sitting. We pulled the 3rd leaf down in the "HD" pack. As you can see, its front low right now, but we should have the new tire carrier/rear bumper done soon on it where it should level it out a lot better.

It definitely looks way ass high in the rear because there is no bumper.

Here are some sneak peaks. Glade just sent out the Exhaust manifolds and intake to laser to have the flanges built.

Turbo manifold will be a T4 manifold. That is a Garret TP-38 from a 96' Powerstroke. Not sure if that turbo will work well or not, but we're using it for mockup for now. It would be better suited to the 1UZ in the buggy, but we'll try it on the 3.4L to see.

Like I said, we are testing it. I have a 94' OBS powerstroke. It starts to boost at around 1500 and really kicks in at 2000 rpms. I can hit 35psi in my truck with the mods done to it with that turbo. 22psi stock.

Those numbers are way above what this will see on a 3.4L though. We're mainly using the turbo for mockup with the T4 flange. We'll try it out to see.

But, its not like this is his first rodeo. He has a modded prelude too:

It puts out 700hp. He knows what he is doing.

I'm with you, but the high compression/cylinder pressures on a diesel will spool up a turbo much faster than a gas engine of similar displacement.

Regardless, I don't doubt you guys for a second. The Koala picture had more to do with the fact that this thing is SFA, and soon to have a turbo on a custom manifold under the hood, rather than remote... pretty sick!

Can you leave the rear suspension alone with the stock coils/link or do you have to do leafs on both ends?

Is it a height difference issue?

No, mainly because in order to get the lift height you need, the geometry would be completely jacked up and the 4runner would dart all over the road.

Turbo placement looks like it's gonna sit on the passenger side manifold, but I'm assuming it's gonna get it's exhaust flow from the crossover pipe to utilize both sides of the engine? I'd love to see what you come up with...a friend of mine just gave me the stock turbo off his Evo VIII and I've been brainstorming.....
