Advice - rear sliding window incident

Hello all:

So my buddy is checking out my new rig and he presses the button to slide the rear window down. Unfortunately the temporary registration was taped on the rear window and some of it tore and is lost in the rear hatch.

I love the rear window and use it all the time. How important/difficult would it be to open that up and get the paper remnants out?

Advice appreciated.

I would not worry about it until you get ready to replace speakers in the hatch. If you really want to get into it, its really easy. Just yank on the lower passenger side of the plastic interior cover. You'll see an arrow molded into the cover. Good luck and enjoy your 4Runner.:thumb3:

I know I stink at searching....

Would anyone be able to show me some pics of opening up the rear hatch to access the inside? Or a parts diagram. I tried pulling where the arrow is and got nowhere.....

Cpl little slots on the bottom outer sides just use a butter knife & SLOWLY lift it off till you feel clips come loose piece of cake !

Instead of taking off the entire rear panel, I'd remove the lights on the rear hatch and go fishing for it. It will give you a fairly good size hole to go hunting and the chances of creating rattles are lower.
To remove use a body removal tool, pick, or small screwdriver and insert on the driver's side of the light and wiggle out. The connector comes off easily as well, and while you're in there, might consider swapping out to some LED lights!
