After 4runner what should I choose

my 2012 4runner SR5 is already 3 years old maybe its time to trade it for a new suv but no idea what should I aim for I don't like BMW and mercedaze those luxery SUVs sequoia plantium once is my dream truck before I tried it on, I found I really don't like it, what should I do ? upgrade to 2015 4runner limited? is it worth? seeking some suggestions. I don't do offroad but lots long trip veryyear, only 3 people usually in the car. after 4runner what did you guys bought?:(

The fact that we're even on this web forum implies that we still drive a 4runner. There aren't going to be very many people that will recommend something else, because if it was really that much better than a 4runner they'd all be driving it already.

Go to a car lot like Carmax and sit on as many vehicles as you can. Maybe try a Subaru or something smaller. If the road trips you take only have three people then you definitely don't need a Sequoia.
 
Since it sounds like you want something more luxy...how about a GX

4runner bones, Lexus style, Toyo quality...

and just as athletic as anything out there.

or maybe even a Land Cruiser/LX....



i almost went that route...but im a more humble guy...didnt need the flash,.
plus, if i did buy a GX, my wife would have taken it and i would never ever drive it.
 
Goes against the grain given the forum and fact that I've owned 3 4runners in past 2 years but my wife currently has a Nissan pathfinder platinum plus with AWD that has been great. Room for 7 or 5 plus gear, smooth road ride, selectable all wheel drive and still gets 25 mpg. Not an off-roader but great for family hauler and pulling a trailer like a boat. Locking the AWD to 4x4 mode handy in off road situation or on slippery boat ramp. And about $15k cheaper than identical infinity version. That said she wants a sequoia next though.

My 2011 4Runner is almost 4 years old and I plan on keeping it a lot longer. I've never understood people who replace their vehicles more often than I change my shoes. If there's nothing wrong with it then keep it. If you feel there is something wrong with it maybe you want something other than a body on frame SUV.

I'd say another 4Runner...... but you may want to look into a Highlander!

The new 2014+ Highlander are very nice, get the AWD XLE..... the interior is all leather, all up-to-date "high tech features", and you are paying with Toyota price to get the Lexus experience! Everything a BMW and Benz has.

I had a 3rd gen 2WD 4Runner (18yrs old now, still running strong, 270k ODO), and then I had a BMW X5 (the past 5 yrs), and I *almost* went that route to get a Highlander (getting rid of the X5)...... so close that I had already put down deposit for one.... then, I ended up with a new 2015 5th gen 4x4 4Runner (just a few days ago)..... cuz I think I actually want to start offroading/wheeling/camping etc...

seriously. i have a 2010 and i think (hope) we're just getting started together.
 
I will most likely be going LC200 next or possibly a GX (I would also love a G-Wagon, but not as a DD). However, my 4Runner only has 37k miles on it and I don't think I will trade it any time soon. I don't see much of a point buying a BOF SUV meant to last forever, just to trade it every few years. If I were gonna do that, I would get some thing far less reliable, but much more fun.....

A Limited would be a good step up, but you could also get a lightly used GX (ie soccer mom trade in) which would be an even bigger step. Cant really beat a V8, 6 gears and much nicer interior, while keeping the reliability of the LC150 platform.
