I got them from AM auto parts which doesn't specifically say Eagle Eyes brand but that's what showed up. Very cheap in price for how nice they are in my opinion.

what a time to stumble on this thread! on my blacked out headlights i bought a few years back the lens clearcoat is toast, i was just going to buy another set of the black ones but i hated the output of the projectors. but looking at this ill just get another set and replace the projectors! thanks for the info! :thanks: what bulb size does the g5-r projectors use?

G5-r are a standard d2s bulb. You'll need d2s to whatever ballast connector you're running to connect them, amp or 9006.

Hey blackoutt- question for you about the retrofit. Does the G5R lens have any affect on how the standard headlight bulbs are mounted?
I'm currently running the H11 Xenondepot kit. Thanks in advance.

You can reuse the ballasts (XD ballasts are one of the better aftermarket ones FYI) but your H11-based HID bulbs will not fit. G5R / EX / EX-L projectors use D2S bulbs.

Yep what Ed C said ^^^^ I got amp to d2s adapters so I could continue to run my cheapy HID ballasts that I already had with the new style of bulb. The adapters kinda sucked, had to pull the rubber seals off and adjust the contact points a little otherwise they weren't good connections and I get getting flickering and no light every once in a while.

That's right, forgot to mention you'd need AMP to D2S adapters to run the aftermarket ballasts. You could also what the aftermarket companies released as "D2H" bulbs, which have the D2S type base but power leads and AMP connectors like the XD bulbs. They don't perform as well as D2S bulbs from OEM manufacturers like Philips and Sylvania/Osram.

A little over a month, 2 trips through the car wash and 2 rain storms. So far so good. Love the way these lights changed the front end of the truck. Now I just wish the paint would stop oxidizing.
I hope you’re luckier than me. I bought some black 2006 projector ones on Amazon a year ago, and I’m kicking myself for not installing them until this past summer because mine seemed perfect for a month, or so, then the driver’s side started leaking. I carefully dried it out, silicone it, checked and lubed all of the o-ring seals on the bulbs, and re-installed. It was good for another month, but then started fogging and leaking again. I’m beyond frustrated at this point because there is clearly some defect with the vent, or something I can’t seal, and at this point, I’m sure the seller won’t help as I’ve had them for a year (even though I didn’t install them for half that time). Very frustrating!

You'll have to open the lamp housings to replace.
I finally installed my KHC replacement assemblies. All-in it was easier than I’d thought, though the bottom bolt it absurdly difficult to remove, and for me impossible to reattach at completion. 3 out of 4 will have to do. Best thing I can say for that is to remove your plastic wheel wells to get at it. I’d read some of the threads that said you need to modify one of the projector holes for the standard bulb to fit, though this was not my experience.
Installed, they look awesome. I added a bead of sealant, we’ll see if that keeps out moisture. I’m not optimistic, but that’s only due to what I’ve read here; in-hand these seem equal to OEM. Like, exact.
With the satin black housing you’ll notice the amount of light you project at night will diminish.
I’m trying to upload before and after pics, hope it works.

Since you have projector lenses, the black housing has nothing to do with the diminished light output....

I saw those just a few weeks after I installed my DTMoto black housing projectors. I'm also curious about them, and I especially like the halo style running light. Please post your thoughts when you get these!

Please follow up on these. I love the look, but I’m extremely worried about wasting more money on another pair of aftermarket lights that leak. I “thought” I had finally solved my condensation problems until a week or so ago when the nighttime temps started dropping, and now both sides look like it’s been raining inside!:yell: One thing that I’m definitely curious about with the set you bought is how the turn indicators work. The video is useless that is in the Amazon ad. It just shows him unboxing, and installing them, and has the LED strip illuminated, but doesn’t show what happens when the turn signal is activated. I wonder if those strips turn amber like some newer cars?
I absolutely plan on following up.
They arrived yesterday in pretty nice looking "ARKON" branding (i think ive seen that brand, or at least that name, on some truck parts before) The lenses have a stamp that looks like the KHC logo. Surprisingly, they included bulbs. I havent installed them yet because it's been busy and rainy, but i'm gonna try to get them in by the end of the week.I believe the turn signal is still an amber bulb separate from the LED, but I will let you know when I am sure, maybe ill make a video to demonstrate.
As far as leaking, while I'd love to be able to install them and just let you know if they leak after some time, I plan on going over the back edge with some extra black silicone, because I dont want to minimize that risk if I can. I'm afraid the leaking might be a result of my bulb choice, so we'll just have to see how it goes
Edit: the brand is AKKON not ARKON. ARKON makes big directional truck wheels, AKKON is this brand of headlight apparently. It did come in a nice, glossy, branded box.
