Hey all, I'm new here. I am purchasing a 2010 T4R Limited and wanted to ask a question about adding aftermarket wheels and tires. I was thinking of staying with 20" wheels, maybe XD series or something and could use some help on the tire size. What would be a reasonable tire size without having to lift?

Do you want to go with a taller, wider (or both) tire? Are there any particular tires (brands and models) that you've seen that you like?
Generally speaking a 32" tall and 275mm wide (+/-) tire is about the maximum recommended without installing a lift. Of course there are exceptions to this rule, and if you don't mind modifying your fender liner and fender trim a bit you can go wider and taller without lifting. Wheel width and offset will also be determining factors in tire fitment.
I found a set of 20x9 XD monster wheels w/ Nitto terra grappler 275/55/20 tires. The wheels are offered in +18mm and +35mm offsets. I don't have a good knowledge on the offsets other than I know they make the wheels stick out. Would that be an alright combination?

Positive offsets bring the wheel in closer to the body.

That's a good tire size, and +18mm will be a good offset for those wheels. +35mm offset will bring the wheels/tires too close to the suspension.

Welcome to the T4R forum! As you already know, probably one of the most important phases when gearing-up for any vehical modification(s), is the planning phase; it will usually determine the scope of personal satisfaction.
You asked about "adding wheels and tires", but no mention of what the truck will be doing, e.g....pulling the boat, plowing, rock crawling, or simply, getting those "little ones" off to school safely!
Now my L.E. (for example) will never see a mountain, a stream, or a ditch. I mainly use it to go back and forth locally; it has no special purpose. So when I went shopping for new tires recently, I based my choices on what the truck would be doing most of the time; even my decision to stay with the O.E. 20" rims was deliberate.
My two 4Runner modification objectives..."On-road" performance, and "Style"! When I take her up on the interstate, I really can't believe it's road management capabilities; No lag on acceleration, zero sway around sharp curves, "A true Road Performer"...and I'll be dern if it ain't the pertiest looking S.U.V. on the block...hot'dang! :reddance:

For our trucks you want a NEGATIVE off set on a 9" wheel. I am running 17x9 with a negative offset (-12 to be exact) that gives me about 4.5" of back spacing. Granted you could just run spacers to clear the UCA but then again you might not hit it.
