Aggressive Tires for my 4Runner?

Hi,

Thanks for the replys guys. I've narrowed it down to 3 choices, the CTs, the revos and GY fortera triple treds.
The CTs are the cheapest (from Costco)at almost $300 less than the other two, but considering how long either of these are suppose to last I don't think the $300 should be a factor. I don't put alot of miles on every year so anyone of these tires should last me well over 5 years. My pathfinder has the Michelin LTX M/S on and they seem to be a pretty nice tire.

I'm not sure I like the fact that the revos cost you gas milage though and at about $1.15 a litre that gets expensive.

Just aside note here, I just replaced all the oils in the 4R with Amsoil products. Here's to hoping it will make the 4R last and run alot longer.

The Mich LTX M/S is also excellent but is more a pick-up truck/commercial tire. The CT is smoother and targeted for SUV's. I've tested a truck with Revo's and they weren't as quiet.

Being the engineer that I am, I have read through the posts and learned about sidewall thickness, treat depth and type, snowflakes, and sizes but nowhere have I read about compound. Do all these tires have the same compound ? If you have the said 2 different tires with the same tread pattern and depth and all that, what about the compound or I think it may be called treadwear on the side of the tire... Some are A,B,C... Just learning here but I would imagine that it would make some difference if you were in snow and mud and dry/wet pavement.

The REVOs have dual compound, as they wear they will maintain the same traction.
