Air always coming out of vents

Not just a real faint flow of air either. It is about the equivalent of the fan being on the second to the bottom setting. So much so that I have to adjust the temp even when it is off. Is that normal?

If you hit the button to circulate air in the car (the button to the left of where the AC circle button is)... The button will illuminate when its on and It should stop air from flowing in from outside.

When the airs off... just hit that button and it should stop air from flowing in from outside. I'll double check later, but I remember the constant airflow bothering me one time... and hitting the inside air circulation button stopped it completely.

That would rock! I wont be able to check for a few hours. Trapped in a fluorescent light cubicle nightmare at the moment.

Yep, if it's in recirculate - the air being forced into the vent from outside will stop.
The limited automatically puts it in recirculate if it's off. Must be manual on the SR5/TE.
The tundra's get it really bad, putting it in recirculate works perfect.

Just as an FYI, the constant airflow is to keep water from condensing and sitting in the ducts. If you are in a humid/warm climate, this can lead to fungus REALLY quick.. took 2 trips to the dealer to get it out of our R32 after the wife turned everything off for most of the summer....NOT FUN.

If you get fungus in the ducts it will take some fungicide that they spray in the ducts to get it cleaned again. meas that you car first stings of fungus... then of chemicals.

Yeah this bugs me as well. I've tried the recirculate button thingie and it works for a while but mine will turn itself off after a while and the outside air comes flowing in again. I suppose I can learn to live with it if it helps prevent mold from growing, hadn't thought of it before.

Yep. Same thing on my '02. Hit the recirc. button. Good to go.

My wife claims that if air is not circulating when we're in the car together, that could legally be a form of torture to her, especially if we've just eaten Mexican food. :lookout:
