So, while waiting on an alignment at Taylor's Tire in Greensboro, i decided to walk to Lowes hardware and see if i could figure out a way to keep the damn air box lid shut (the clips, as we all know, wear out and feel necessary to not do their job).
Needless to say, i managed to make something work, albeit a little ugly, and way to damn big. There's a better way to do this i know, but this is a DIY world and i enjoyed it.
I managed to find this, and somehow made it work, even after buying one WAAAAY too big, but too lazy and inebriated to bother bringing it back (we've gone too far).
Here's the final product, although hopefully i'll shrink it up. Importantly, it F****** works perfectly, so no judgement. :cheers:
I used some spare tranny hosing to give the latch some give when trying to reapply the bolt. so far it stays closed for the first time since i got it a month ago. ill eventually clean it up. for now it works. and yes, i did seal it.
