Air Intake Install Help

I just received my new K&N air intake. As I'm following the directions to remove the OEM intake I notice a triangular shaped plastic case attached to the intake tube with one hose attached to it. I can't identify this piece in the supplied instructions. What is this piece? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know the answer but suggest you repost in 3rd gen section.

I think you meant 4th gen section. To anyone else who may run into this problem - the piece I was referring to was the air intake resonator. The hose connected to the resonator is one of the three that must be attached to the new intake. A new longer hose should be included in the K&N kit for replacement.
