Airbag module recall

Meh....
It's my understanding they can ONLY do work requested even if it is a recall so no random accelerator chop if you don't want it.

No, many dealers are very aggressive about doing these recalls. It's basically free money for them (Toyota pays them), plus a lawyer probably told them it reduces their liability somehow. A few people have had recalls done even after specifically stating not to do them. I brought mine in for inspection before I even owned it and they did the BST and pedal chop! They didn't ask me or the owner. I don't care enough to do anything about it, but I'd prefer a normal gas pedal. I haven't noticed any issues with BST, but I don't drive off road much.

At least one person reported that their dealer bought them a new, full-length gas pedal after they chopped it without permission. Idk if Toyota still sells those?

It's a recall for safety and Toyota dealers have done me right for years. They may charge more than DIY or a small shop, but I believe in the quality and expertise they have in Toyota's.

... and Who The F&$k doesn't let their car run for at least 6 seconds before they drive?!?!? Crazy, IMO, that this even happened. I'm not racing to Toyota for this, but no issues with a Toyota dealer doing it for me. In Denver I've had great luck with Mountain States Toyota.
based on everything I have read, that is not the case.
its not necessarily that I have anything against the dealer, I don't trust ANYONE to work on my vehicles.
