ajohnson's 85 build

you think you'd be ready for a uhwarrie run on saturday. Just me an one other member are going so far.

I would but I have plans already. I was invited with a small group to another park.

There is a TacomaWorld URE trip planned for Memorial Day weekend. You should join up over there, there are a lot of cool locals.

hell I just go out there and wheel. I always wind up in some group anyway so I never really plan it out just grab a buddy and go see what fun can be had.

I hear yah. Let me know next time you go and I'll try to make it. And PM me if you wanna meet up one evening and see this thing in person.

Holy steel tube. It is finally ready. I was really happy that the All-Pro driveline e-brake disc is double drilled to fit an IFS front shaft :). It should be a lot smoother with the double cardan. I had some pretty wicked vibes on the highway.

IFS front driveshaft clearanced for more angle w/ .250" wall 2.5" tube for the rear. The front shaft is what was built for me last year with the Trail Gear suspension install, but now lengthened for the dual cases. .120" wall 1.75" tube w/ 9" slip joint and single high-angle u-joints on each end.

I was having an issue with the transfer case shifter detent spring. Dave'z Offroad does not upgrade to a HD spring when he sets it up for twin sticks. My hi/low shifter kept popping into neutral which was pretty frustrating on my drive to/from work yesterday. I pulled the spring out and stretched it for now. Hopefully it will stay in place when I go wheeling this weekend.

where are you going this weekend?

right on I've got a few guys meeting at uhwarrie tomorrow. me and another for certain but there's a third gen, blue Tacoma, and green FJ that's either coming with us or heading to gulches. I'd be heading to gulches with them but the one dude I have plans with is coming from camp lejeune so gulches is a bit far for him to make a day trip out of

I am excited. I will be with 2 badass 2nd gen tacos and a nice 82(?) Pickup. It is my 1at trip to gulches, I will try to get plenty of pics and vids.

Its an awesome place to play for sure. I think the best thing about the park is they keep the trails all one way traffic so your never pulling off for 35 jeeps to go by lol. look forward to the pics be sure to get on this rock garden for me..
