I have talked the dealership down on a 2011 Toyota 4Runner.


This are the specs of the T4R:

2011 Toyota 4Runner - Mag Gray

I have talked them down to $28,000

The 2011 Trail Edition was not offered with Leather so I am not sure on that one. Also, does it have KDSS? If so, that was a $1700 option. If it is a Trail w/KDSS and NAV that is a smoking deal from what I have seen around.
 
Can anyone tell me a good way to check if the vehicle has KDSS? It is at a dealership 5 hours away, and the dealer gets confused when you tell them to lean down and take a picture of the front axel

Katzkin leather is made for the Trail for like $1000, I would bet it's aftermarket by them.

OP [MENTION=85229]pepowdylan[/MENTION] : great deal given 31k miles is basically brand new, and these trucks probably last to 300k easy... Let's see... 4 months and between myself and road trips and my dad's car refusing to start up it has 13k, so 31k is really nothing.

I would say yes that is a pretty good deal. Get the VIN and run it to see the options. Leather is obviously aftermarket

Funny story, my dog ripped up my leather on the front two seats cuz I was an idiot and thought he wouldn't mess in the truck (he's a hunting dog wow I'm an idiot), so I was gonna get the front two replaced as well as the dash trim since it got all scuffed. Well, I found out it's basically cheaper ($50 more expensive, read next sentence) to get all 3 rows of seats done after a discount through a friend than to just replace the first two factory leather (wtf I got ripped ikr?). So we ended up selling the old seats to a friend who owns a junkyard and getting them all done in Katzkin. The T4r is out of town so no pics for a while. but there is a tag on the front passenger and driver seat that says katzkin, probably on the backs too but I haven't found it. It is VERY VERY nice and although isn't as beautiful and perfectly stitched (or however the factory leather is made from) as the factory leather, seems to me to be much more durable especially for a truck.


And go find a vin decoder if this one doesn't work, just google search "toyota VIN decoder"

best option is just call the dealership and ask them if it has KDSS or take the VIN to your local dealers. there are some online sources but I don't know them off the top of my head.

Katzkin usually has a tag on the seam that says katzkin

^ pics where it looks like the seat is kinda stretched out it's actually not, it evened out after 30 mins idk whats up in that pic but as of this morning it's all even not really any creases

Fun fact: it looks 100x better when the car is clean (my pics don't do justice), stupid friends and me going to the beach every other weekend and destroying this thing...

It's from the North, and I am from the South. This is the largest thing that concerns me.. The rust that may be on the bottom. The dealer is putting it up in the air and taking pictures for me tomorrow.
 
I'd say thats a really good deal, factory leather or not.

If I could have found a trail locally with under 50k miles on it for less than $30k, I'd have bought it when I bought mine a couple months ago.

I got what I thought was a really good deal on my 2010 SR5, with 34k miles on it, for only marginally less than $28k.

As far as any rust, my 2010 has lived in New England since new, and mine shows no corrosion or rusting anywhere, I'd expect a 2011 with less miles to be the same.

BUY IT before I find it and go buy it myself!!

with regards to what tony said above, even if it has some rust, from what I know (truth or myth), northern rust is a lot less dangerous/damaging than southern rust.
 
I've got Katzkins installed in all 3 of my Toyotas: '07 Tacoma, '12 Tacoma, 13 SR5 4Runner. All installed by dealer when new. IMO its better than most factory leather available, certainly more wear resistant.
