Another 5th Gen Cargo project

My Goal with this cargo project was to keep the function of the sliding tray and make it look as clean as possible. I've been closely watching SeattleMikes project and liked how he was able to keep the sliding tray intact. I figure I paid for it... I might as well use it.

Very nice! Curious, did you leave enough space for the seats to still recline?

Post those schematics and you'll make lots of new friends! :bravo:

Very nice job! What is holding it down?

I used 2x4s to mount the pegs that keep the front above the tray. The pegs are set just in front of the D-rings. I'm going to leave the D-rings flipped up and put a screw into the wood 2x4s at an angle to make it so its stuck on the D-rings. The Back of the seats should keep the back from lifting up in the event that anything happens. If its not stable... I'll have figure out something better for the rear.

I did leave enough space for the the seats to recline. I'll take more detailed pictures of the space and what it looks like with them reclined in the morning.

As for schematics... My dad did some on his Computer. I'll see if he saved them. I threw them away after we had it all done. Some of it was on the fly with a cardboard cut out that changed a couple times. I really owe my dad most of the credit. Hes in the custom cabinetry business and managed to make all my mistakes look like they were on purpose.

Very cool project, exactly what I was looking to steal idea wise!!:jk:

Hats off to and your Pop for a great mod, nice workmanship!:trophy:
