Another Full-Length Roof Rack Option -PrinSu

I emailed him last week. He is working on getting the 3/4 rack fitted this week and will supply pics. If it looks good, I'm in.
 
I'm guessing he loses a lot of business because drilling into your brand new roof is required... that sucks because it's a good looking rack if you need one for your rig.

I have a 5th Gen with the full length, I live about 10 minutes from Zach and was the first one to get it. He is working on the 3/4 length right now. As for the full length, I love it. The Drilling isnt Ideal but it is in the weatherstripping grove and can be covered up very easily. Ive had it for over a month now and as for functionality, it is very simple you just need a 1/4 bold (15 cents) from a hardware store and you can literally put anything up there you want. I have 0 complaints about mine
 
I like the design BUT I would want double the amount of cross slats. As far as drilling into th eroof I am fine with that BUT if I am going to do that I would get the full length FrontRunner

More slats would be really easy to add. They're off the shelf 8020 extrusion. And it looks like the slots where you'd bolt them on are already in place. It's a nice modular system where you can add all sorts of stuff easily and more importantly very cheaply.

ya but the mounting points have been slotted in between the current slats. Id want those to be left out of the build so I could mount additional slats in a more solid configuration
 
You could probably mount one of these rails down the inside of each side plate and then put your cross bars anywhere you want em.

I like the look of that .75, drilling holes in the roof just makes me nervous.

Does anyone know if the rack will accept a Thule or Yakima ski carrier or box?
 
Hi all, it's actually my T4R that Zach put the 3/4 on today. I really dig this rack. It seems extremely sturdy and is very light weight. I like the full length look and was originally going to go that route but Zach offered to let me run the 3/4 for a bit and see if it fits my needs. All I plan to run up to is a tent, Max Tracks, and possibly an awning. I don't love the idea of drilling but I also don't love the idea of the way the Gobi and K9 just rest on the paint either. If I decide to go full length, the swap for full length side rails is easy and I've already worked that out with Zach.
 
Please keep us posted on how the rack performs. I'm especially interested in the wind noise it may (or may not) generate.

It's actually very quiet. I threw my ski racks back on it and it's much quieter with the PrinSu and Thule ski racks than with the stock rack and Thule ski racks.
