Thanks! No it doesn't rub, there is probably 1/4" gap. It's also adjustable. The nice thing is it's aluminum so it's not going to vibrate or move on the freeway.

Going with the same setup as you. Did the 3/4 rack come with a total of 9 rails?
The 3/4 comes with 6 rails. I will probably buy a few extra once I figure out how I'm going to set it up for camp season.
Also, for some reason my sat antenna was in the way of the rear crossbar so we moved it forward and Zach has a single mount rear bar that will go on the very back. This is the first time he's ran into this so not sure if they changed the antenna size for 2016.

It's not directly above but you can see the detail of the rack. Does this work? Otherwise it may be a few days...it's covered in snow right now.

Doing research on racks for a new 4Runner. Like baja and gobi but leaning towards baja for costs.
Just noticed they have a universal rack that mounts to the roof rack bars. Anyone use this? Half the cost of the model specific and only slightly smaller.

I think it all really just comes down to intended use. I'm trying to keep this build light and versatile as I will be driving this rig as much to Colorado, Moab, etc. on the freeway for biking as I will going on Overland trips. I agree it isn't as wide or big as a K9 or Frontrunner and wouldn't hold the same amount of gear but it's definitely lighter and probably fits my needs fine. The only things I will be throwing up top is a smaller RTT and maybe some Maxtrax. Everything else will be inside or on the aluminum back bumper once I order one. And if I need more space Zach said I can swap out the side rails for full length which would give me more that enough space. I like the look of it and like supporting local guys so it's a good fit for me.

I have two concerns about them: overall height and security, i.e. the basket has to mount to the factory rails and that mount might fail and the load has to be secured to the basket-another possible failure point.
Do you mean capable as in carrying capacity in Lbs?
I'm also looking hard at the K9, Prinsu, and Front Runner racks, and leaning hard towards the K9. What the Prinsu has going for it, in my eyes, is:
Availability. Made in 'Merica, which means you're not waiting on a cargo container from South Africa to arrive in order to get your rack. Not sure exactly how long it takes to receive the Prinsu rack though.
Modularity. You can add more cross bars to increase capacity, but you also control the total weight of the rack when you only add cross bars as needed. Also, I like the idea of using easy to find 80/20 parts to mount things to the rack instead of proprietary mounts.
Price. Under $1K.

Interesting rack... like the fact it's Aluminum and the slots are removable.
Any idea on the carrying capacity? Would be nice to use this for a RTT...

Ok here are the dimensions. All length dimensions were taken from the rear most point of the side plate.
47.5" wide (outside edge to outside edge)
64.75" long (rear most point of side plate to front bottom edge of wind deflector)
60.75" from rear most point of side plate to top edge of the wind deflectors. So your interior usable area would be roughly 47.25" x 60.75".
53" to rear of front most cross bar (still has mounts for another crossbar forward of this crossbar but it would be in the kick up area)
1.25" total rise at top of kick up versus the main flat area of the rack.
So it's definitely big enough for your average RTT and could probably fit a couple narrow things like Maxtrax forward of the tent if you mounted the tent flush with the back.
