Another Full-Length Roof Rack Option -PrinSu

Any idea on the carrying capacity? Would be nice to use this for a RTT...

Could you take a closer picture of the feet from the inside and how it mounts up with the rail and roof? I am wondering if a foot couldn't be fabbed up instead of the plusnut solution...

Also, is there a specific groove that runs down the rail? It almost looks like you could use these on it...

Here you go. I don't know the carrying capacity but I'm sure it varies depending on how many crossbars you use. I'm sure it would carry a RTT no problem, lots of Tacomas running RTTs on PrinSu racks. One of the pics below shows how you can add additional cross bars wherever you need them. I'm sure you could fab a foot to rest on the roof versus using a plus nut. There are also two rails in each crossbar that can be used for tie down rings. PrinSu sells some or I'm sure most other similar tie downs work work as well. The crossbars are just 1020 extruded aluminum so pretty universal.

Can you post a few pictures of your full length rack? There aren't many out there and I am considering getting in on the group buy on TW.

I took a few at lunch (dont mind the salt as we are getting hit with snow right now). I tried to get every angle from 1 side. I only took a picture of the front foot (but the others are similar). Let me know if you want more

Personally I like the Prinsu Full rack better as the 3/4 has a swoop from the side that im not a major fan of but thats my opinion

He has just done the 3/4 fit (look at their instagram prinsudesign) it looks very similar but IMHO I like the full length one better. If you arent crazy about drilling holes, im sure you could fabb some feet to go on his front mounts to fit on the weatherstripping.

From the looks of it you could easily just use a hard rubber bumper on the end of the spacer for a foot. It would rest nicely in the channel and not scratch the paint. Also, given the rigid design of the side plates and the tight tolerance of the wind deflector, I don't see there ever being an issue with it lifting at freeway speed.
 
Had a good email chat with Zach in regards to the racks - very responsive and forthcoming with info... just what all vendors should be like!

If you are looking for some more, and I mean quite a bit more info on these check out this thread on TW - yeah it's TW but hey a '10 TRD was my first Yota so it's all good :-)

I just got my full length sides from Zach at PrinSu and will be installing it over the next few days. I plan to try to come up with a foot option for the front that is similar to the Gobi with no drilling required. I will post back what I come up with.

Most of the earlier pictures floating around for the 5th Gen were for the prototype model used for fit checks. I can confirm that the production model is very clean and low profile, just like the SCS T4R shows.

Was thinking the same thing myself... depending on the spacing, a thick plastic (like a cutting board) could be cut to form a foot for the front

Nice! I really like the 3/4 but since he's local I figured I would do a full length and fab up some feet so I don't have to drill. That's a good idea. You could trace and cut the plastic to match the bracket on the side rail, drill holes and bolt the plastic to the bracket, and attach a double sided sticky pad between the roof and plastic. That should keep it plenty secure, especially with weight on it. I don't think lift is an issue, would just want to eliminate any possible side to side movement.

Good to know. It's definitely cleaner and nicer.
Is there a way of avoiding drilling into the roof from what I hear?
 
I have read in the TW forums of people not mounting the front feet into the roof. Due to the design of the siderails, they just rest them on the rain gutter as the chances of the siderails flexing up is VERY slim. That being said I am going to be looking at doing a "Gobi" style front foot on mine :reddance:
