Figured I'd share, ordered mine on black Friday with free shipping (75.00 off) and it is slated for delivery tomorrow. So three weeks-ish order to delivery. Pretty good and a lot better than I expected. I'll report on the PC condition and parts situation tomorrow night when I install it.

I ordered mine on Black Friday as well and I got it two days ago. No problems with the powder coating and it looks like all of the parts are here. I will hopefully get it installed next weekend. Good luck with yours!

thanks for the info man. I ended up going to Lowes and picking up a pack of bolts with a slightly larger hex head. Was able to slide it right into the slots.
So far I totally agree with the load panels. I bought them thinking I would be able to mount or bolt anything but seeing the minimal space between both the hood and the panel...I don't see how I would be able to get my hand under there to be able to properly mount anything (easily at least)

has anyone bolted down some tie down rails to the crossbars? seems kinda redundant but then at least you can use a quick disconnect tie down.
I have a bunch of this from a old bed rack i built for my titan L-Track Tie Down Rails
and some of these tie downs L-track Fittings - L-track Double Stud Fitting w/ Pear Link / D-Ring
I figure i could run them front to back on either side of the rack and have unlimited spots to hook my ratchet straps to.

the 4' tracks will work nicely. the existing holes line up with the crossbars easily (this is a non issue anyways since you can move the crossbars lol). Also the stainless screws that come with the tracks work in the crossbars like a carriage bolt would. I didn't install them as i won't use the rack till March.
I also used my grinder to give the back side of the deflector a 45 degree cut and moved the deflector to the middle setting.
Can't tell for sure, but did you drill the front?

No, there are channels where the water can run through.
Still happy with this mounting method as apposed to drilling? Going to install my rack this week and I'd be down to skip drilling holes.

Don't drill holes. there is no need to Plus, god forbid you do develop a leak, you are on your own. no one is going to help or cover the damage that a leak could cause if you drilled holes in the roof.
and if it is a very slow leak, you could have a mold problem even before you know you have a leak. this happened on my daughters car and the smell became pretty bad before we could determine where it was coming from. We had to take out the entire headliner, dust with talcum powder and then run a hose over the car while someone sat in it and looked for leaks.
the leak was in the front passenger corner of the roof and the water pooled under her tire in the very back. this drove us crazy until we figured it out.

thats debatable. And I don't say that just because I drilled holes in my roof. I say it because who knows what could happen if you have a large item up front and it catches air just right and tries to pull the rack up and away from the roof.:reddance:
If you guys are wanting to use a rubber bumper instead of drilling there's a ready made product that would work well and they are cheap.

I drilled mine as well. I spoke with the guys at CBI and they didn't recommend mounting the full rack without drilling and securely mounting the front of the rack. The side rails aren't tubular steel like the Gobi rack so there is the possibility of it moving from side to side under heavy loads. Chances are it won't but it was designed to be attached to the roof and not resting on it.
If you take your time and seal it up it won't be a problem. It might even be more waterproof than the factory mounts at the rear of the rack.

I'm happy to report that I've had no issues with my current setup using the rubber feet.
I've had a Thule Roof Box up there with snowboard/ski gear inside and didn't experience any issues.
Those Camaro hood adjustment bolts look like money. That said, the way I have mine setup is doing the job.
If I was mounting a heavy roof top tent up there I'd probably bite the bullet and drill the roof for the extra peace of mind but for my uses the rubber feet are adequate.
