another hitch question

Getting ready to move south for my next duty assignment. Planning on doing it myself. I went to look hitches and noticed they all seem too long for the 4R's receiver unless i either cut the hitch or drill a new Pin brace hole in the receiver.

So with the understanding of how bad this sounds....

"how far does yours stick out" .... i know this is gonna get ugly. Please for the love of god dont post pics!!! lol.

I have a standard hitch with a 2" ball (most common). You can pick them up at Walmart, Pep Boys, U-Haul, Lowes et.....I also use a light coat of white lithium grease on the ball before I hook it to my trailer. Make sure to buy a lock to lock your hitch into the receiver so no one steals your stuff. Good luck on the move.

You don't need to cut or drill anything. I have 3 different hitch setups and they all fit perfectly! You just need to get another one...

Oh yeah- sorry bout that!

From the edge of the receiver to the ball's center is 6-5/8". Total length overall is 7-1/2". I leave mine in all the time to protect my bumper ( plus I tow my boat at least once per week) and it's a stainless 3" drop bar.
