another rack & pinion question

So the driver's side shaft that comes out of the rack and pinion moves up and down slightly ( its not the tie rod ends),but it causes the driver's wheel to shimmy enough to feel it when you hit a bump ( and make me not drive it). So is there anyway to adjust the rack or tighten it up
it's a 1999 limited its got 215k miles . i just bought it and i'm trying to stop the bleeding i want to go play
so far ball joints,valve cover gaskets,t-case sensors,all fluids ,plugs
things to do cv's,steering,-soon more lift,bigger tires

I checked its not bad from the steering wheel to the rack . It's the drivers side shaft that comes out of the rack and pinion it moves up and down which causes the wheel to wiggle . I'm just wondering if there is anything else to try other than replace the rack

So you pulled the boot off and checked the inner tie rod? If its solid then it sounds like there is movement in the rack due to the seals going bad? Is it leaking at all?

No leaks just the drivers side is loose

p.s. There's a guy parting out a 2000 runner is there any parts you guys would suggest i get for spares -cv's ,maybe coil pack

So i pulled the plug on the back of the rack and re greased the "caster" reinstalled it "tighter" and good as new ! thank you for your assistance
