ANTMAN'S Thread

Thanks for checking!

When I click on that one it opens the page after my Carroll Shelby tribute.

This is getting interesting. It's the Antman Potluck Thread.

The air compressor is opening the right one for me. Anyone else sees the problem?

Well- I'm not sure what happened but I sure hope it doesn't happen again.

I just spent over an hour deleting all the old links in my index and creating new ones. I feel better now.:fish2:

ANTMAN MOD#2

Here are my Gobi Stealth fork-down bike mounts- ANTMAN style...

... Only real issue I have with them is that they can't be locked...

I know this is an old mod, but I searched and didn't find that you'd solved the problem (too many pages to browse). Have you seen the locking skewers available?

There are some cheap ones on eBay that use padlocks as well as some that Yakima makes. I have some made by RockyMounts on mine that are much nicer than the Yakima ones and more easily adjustable but I think they're also pricier.

Thanks for that!

Still running the cheapo mounts.
I'll check out the Rocky Mounts, I would love to be able to lock them.

Antman, I just wanted to say that your 4runner really defines the meaning of personalizing your own ride. So many unique ideas here, I don't even know how you coming up with some of them.

I know it takes A LOT of time and dedication to document all these write ups for everyone to read, and I just wanted to take the time out to show my appreciation and publicly thank you for that.

I don't know many people here, but I do know that you are really committed to helping everyone out as much as you can. Even for the silliest questions, you would take the time out to give me more than a thorough explanation and beyond.

If you were ever nominated for T4ROTM, I would totally vote for you. Oh wait :behindsofa:

SMh

24 Hours ago I was on here introducing myself and saying that I don't plan on doing any mods.

Then I started in Antman's thread. I have a giant list of mods that I want to do. PlastiDip is some legit stuff....

Pat- you funny!

Thank you guys!

I like it here.

Yes, it does take a lot of time to document the mods- but- the feedback I get from everyone makes it worthwhile.

Sooooo many awesome people on here. I have met many people that have become personal friends- and GOOD friends at that. I've been to their houses, met their families, been camping with them, cooked dinner for them, been taken out to dinner, gone on trips, been to their shops, traded with them, worked on their 4Runners, even taken them fishing(that's serious!). All of them incredible, stand- up guys. Very generous people- people that do not take advantage of others. Friends. Friends I am proud to know. :crybaby:

Not kidding about this stuff.:nerd: Like I said- I like it here.

No lie.

Selling factory seat covers on the brand new 4R because i'm replacing with leather next week. Also going to sell the factory running boards. Then:

1) Tires
2) Plastidip wheels and all other chrome
3) Build cargo shelf, but this will be tricky since I need the whole cargo area with seats folded down to sleep on camping trips. I'll have to see about that.

damn...

I had that drag set pretty stiff...I'm back off er' a bit...you're gonna need some room to RUN!!...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Welcome aboard Bro..enjoy the stay, say good bye to your savings account..and God Bless Texas baby!

LoL. Texas appreciates it!

I'm sure the wife is going to be excited about the new project, especially after me spending 2K last week in gun money :/

Oh well. Fun costs money lol. ANTMAN actually made me happy though. Though I don't necessarily have the know-how to fabricate or customize as well as he does, I have friends that will be happy to help-- and I can learn in the process.

My problem is going to be staying in the gas budget. I travel a TON for work--we are talking 300 miles a week to work about back easy, sometimes more like 400 a week- So I'm going to need to stay light.

Congrats man, glad you sneaked out the win. Definitely have given me some ideas and useful mods (Airlift 1000 kit and cheap compressor mainly). Keep on keepin on..time to enjoy that awesome truck.

Congrats Jeff - not only for a badass runner, but for the countless contributions you've made, and continue to make to this site!
