ANTMAN'S Thread

Yeah! I miss "seeing" you on here!!!:becky:

Thanks!
Yeah, the past few years have been pretty busy for us...
My son is now almost 4, my daughter is already almost 2!
I started with a new company about 3.5 years ago.
And, we updated & sold our old house & moved into our dream house last year.
Things are finally starting to settle down a bit, so I'm hoping to have more down time.
...yeah right...

In case anyone was wondering how long it takes to read this thread from beginning to end and veer off eat mod rabbit hole...5 hours and 25 minutes

Awesome job Jeff, slick stuff :thumb:

Gotta love receiving likes from a 5 year old post

What is the synergy hybrid drivetrain mod?

I use solar panels for various things and thought it would be awesome to have a port on the outside of the truck to charge / power stuffs on the inside.

It's just a dual charger to keep my main/backup batteries 100%. The alternator can't fully charge the deep/cycle when it's depleted (my fridge runs 24/7). I plug in every day now- easy.

I assume the alternator upgrade I see on here is to charge a dual battery setup or are your batteries too large for even that?

That's a slick setup for several reasons.

BTW - Last night I was organizing my first aid kit and "truck box" with the tailgate up and I went to put my beer and was like "Damn, that cup holder in the bumper that Antman did isn't as gahay as I thought it was."

I don't think the guys with the upgraded alternator will have a problem charging huge batteries. My truck came with the 100 amp alternator, now I have the 130 amp alternator so it's not as bad. With the charger there always perfect!

This is the edge you measure from for the hole (same on both sides)

Look how much room there is! And you thought you were going to drill into the spare tire didn't ya? Admit it...

Looking up from the underside (which I obviously should have done first LOL)

Luckily, it looks like it's held on with a bracket that can be spun or bent out of the way (which I'll do tonight).

Goodies!

After 4 years of Cove trails my rear bumper is pretty sad...Thanks to Sleeter who gave me his basically brand new rear bumper! He said he was about to cut it up for the landfill :faint2: At the pumpkin carving contest 4RnR Grl won new LED reverse lights so she asked me if I wanted her new/old ones. Sweet!

Now I just need to cut a hole for my charger plug, cut 2 holes for the cupholders, cut 2 holes for Rigid reverse lights and cut holes for my marker lights and cut holes for the reverse sensors, and...lmao.

Anyway... it's gonna clean up the rear and look so nice! Thanks Tom and Corey!

Who has a front bumper that's going in the trash? :naughty:

Before and after pics when I get it done...

I posted this in the orig thread but you may not see it. Just curious, I assume you are using each bank, one for the main battery and one for your 2nd. If the charger is mounted in the rear, I assume you are running right to the battery? Isnt that run long for that wire guage? Any pics of how you wired it?

Thanks

I replied in the other thread as well, but...It's10 ga wire running to the batteries. More than enough for the charger's needs.
