I finished Corey's storage box today- thing is a beast to survive Kamikaze Corey and her adventures!
It's a pretty basic box- but I surprised her with a wood burning of her doggie in the slideout table, She loved it! Cool. These pics are in my truck...
Done with this one!
That looks as good as you said it would. I am jealous.....thats it. Quit your day job and start making these for the forum.

I will make these- problem is I would need to charge a pretty penny. I bet I have over 30 hours in that thing.
What would people be willing to pay is the question! No way I would ship it either. It weights a TON.

The table is the same length as the drawers. It's mostly just squeezed between the bottom of the drawer and the bottom of the cubby for the drawer. However... he routed in two channels on either side of the table, and put a screw on each edge of the table so it sort of sits in a channel. As the Table loosens in the channel I will just adjust the screws as needed. It is pretty tight in the bottom of the cubby.

It's a $2 towel holder from Target, lol. "Overlanding",meh.
The bottom of the hinges support the table. Only the front half has routed (rounded) edges, the back is still square to have more purchase area under the hinges. The key to make it work is the bottom of the table and the surface it slides on must be very smooth and the wood must be sealed.
The table is just plywood with about 20 coats of hand rubbed poly, sanded smooth between each coat. I cut it so when it's in and almost fully out there is more resistance. It takes some fiddling to get it right. I really don't see the need for another slide here like others have done (my opinion). This design is simple and strong!

Hey Antman, I am absolutely impressed. I did a few non tech mods that you had shown some time ago, but have been looking for a shelf like this- Do you have the full measurements to share? I will go and get 1/2 inch plywood and 1x6 to make the "holders" and draw a template, but I would appreciate your sizing to give me a start and the confidence to stick it all together.

I'm in the midst of a home office project requiring poly finishing for the design... I'm doing THREE coats with sanding only before the last one... and it's taking foreverrrrrrr
