I have the full set of Weathertech shades as well. They fit great, keep the pervs from peeking, and help regulate the internal temp nicely.

asking for help independent fog light mod
i would love to do this mod but not comfortable doing it by my self i had done this on my 06 & I LOVED IT, so if any person is willing to do it or assist me in doing this mod i would appreciated i would buy lunch or drinks i leave in Southern Ca. 92869 thanks :whoo:

Antman, long-time beneficiary of your thread and guidance, thank you!!!! Were you able to get alignment in spec w/o UCAs or did I blindly pass over the addition of those?
At 105k mi I've finally worn out the second set of tires on my 2011 and this time 5100s w/ new springs are going on along w/ 285s.

No, water can't get into your truck
YES- If you try to close the hatch with a beer bottle in there, you will make a terrible mess. Better not drive home if that's the case...

Wow.....this thread is a great resource! Coming from a 17 tacoma, the foglight/drl setup on this new 4Runner I just bought is really annoying. Many thanks to the OP for the lighting mod write ups.....may not do it exactly as described, but helps me get an idea of what I’m facing. Thanks!

Your write-up on adding NFabs with the sideskirt trim will be my project tomorrow. Thank you for the incredible information and tutorial. I already hacked your airdam removal which has been insanely helpful for extra clearance and easier access to my recovery hooks (now with shackles). It’s kept me out of the mud and snow a few times already!

2019 Electrical schematic attached
Looking at the 2019 diagram we can see that there is still an AND gate that only allows the fog light to receive power when
1) ECU PIN14 is at ground closing the TAIL relay
(AKA ECU senses that the Parking light or Headlights are powered on and then puts pin 14 at ground)
AND
2) ECU PIN 13 is at ground
AKA ECU senses that the fog light switch is the closed position.
Option 1)
Wire the pin on the FR FOG relay Coil that original goes to ECU PIN13 directly to the Fog light switch on the Switched ground side.
By using a relay tap on the relay pin and running a single wire through the main grommet on the fire wall to the fog light switch.
This would
Still allow one to control fog light on or off when the head lights are on likewise fogs would stay on even in hibeam mode.
You would still loose dash light indicator of fog light on/off..... unless a diode would allow the current to flow to ground through the switch and at the same time allow the ecu to see a switched ground signal.
Option 2 the simplest MOD...MAYBE)
Wire FR FOG relay coil pin 13 directly to TAIL relay coil pin 14.
This would.
1) Have Fog lights come on and stay on if PARKING lights/or head lights are on regardless of hi/low beam position
2) believe this would result in a situation if you are running AUTO lights that DRLs would still work with Fogs being off while in DRL mode
3) fogs would auto illuminate if in AUTO the ECU decides to turn on headlights.
4) fog light switch would not control fog lights AKA fogs are controlled by headlight switch.
PROBLEM is ( motor off so one can hear relays close)
Sounds like the the tail relay ( TOWING TAIL marked relay) is in the under the hood fuse box; which would make sense since diagram shows 12+power coming in off of a junction connected to the alternator.
AND THE FRFOG RELAY is located behind the DASH....

The FR FOG relay is in a box behind the dash located above the under dash fuse box....
Need the dealership to give me a better wiring diagram that will tell me the pin outs for this black box.

Many thanks to Antman for the write-up on mounting the NFabs with the 2010 side skirts. It looks awful with no side skirts and I wasn’t willing to pay what Toyota wanted for the caps.
I added a little extra finishing by sliding on rubber edging designed for your car doors. It gives it a finished look and erases a few of the imperfections that occurred due to my own fault. I ordered the pictured edging from Amazon.

For the Anytime Fog Light Mod...
I would like to do this, but a bit different,
Instead of tapping off the accessory power, so the fogs are only able to come on with the key on,
I would like them to only be able to come on when the marker lights, or headlights are on.
Why? I never want to run the foglights just by themselves. I often like to run my marker lights and fogs on slightly dark days, or in rain fog, etc.
I modded my tacoma like this, and basically always had the fog switch to on. This way I could just flip the switch to turn on marker lights, and the fogs came on with them.
Do you know an easy place to tap into the Marker lights wire under the dash, instead of how you have it tapping into accessory (key) power?

I have sold the 4Runner. 154,500 miles- never been back to the dealer, not once (although ironically enough I received a Takata recall notice in the mail 10 minutes ago

Too good of a deal to pass up with the incentives now and the resale value is completely UNREAL. 8 years old, huge dent in the door and both rear quarters, dent in the front fender, rear bumper cracked and paint flaking off from it, and pinstriping galore. It's filthy in and out. They didn't care. I got almost exactly 1/2 what I paid for it new. Unreal.
It was a good run- I really appreciate the folks on here, the interactions, the camping trips, the adventures, the parts swapping. It's been fun! I'll stick around to help answer questions and because, well, I like it here. Plus I'll have a few things to sell...
Let's see who can guess what I got (Pat, Dave and Corey don't spoil the fun!).
It is a brand new 2019...….:jaw:
