Any One Heard of MPP??

Guys,

I just picked up my 2012 SR5 4x4 yesterday (I have my intro in the new members section). I love the 4Runner. Anyway, the finance guys were tring to push a alot of bull to which I said no to every one of them.
One of the products was MPP (MPP Car Warranty Services | Automotive Protection Plan | Auto Extended Warranty). Did you guys ever hear about this or the company? They are still calling me to sign me up for this?

Is this worth it? It's some sort of protection plan that actually pays for all oil changes and scheduled maintenance. Sounds too good to be true...

Mechanical Protection Plan... lot of companies sell them but I would steer clear of 3rd party warranties. Overpriced and not always honored. Do a search on extended warrantied in this forum and there is a rep at a toyota dealer, I think in Texas, that sell OEM extended warranties pretty cheap

Get the Toyota warranty from Jerry Johnson. Those aftermarket warranty companies, as a general rule, are a joke.

Looks like this Jerry is very popular on the internet. I googled him and found his name on multiple websites and forums such as this and edmunds. There are also some others out there. I am glad I didn't say 'YES' to the crap the dealer was trying to sell.

I plan on getting the extended warranty before my manufacturer warranty expires. May be I will get one from toyota in the mail in the coming months.Thanks for the info.

I agree!!!!!!! Aftermarket warranty companies are a complete JOKE! Don't let the dealership scam you. A warranty through Toyota is the only way to go if you decide to get an extended warranty.

My dealer pushed this one too (Toyota of Dallas) when I got my 4R a couple of months ago. I bought it but then cancelled about a week later and got a refund after doing some reading up on their company...total crap. I'll be buying a Toyota extended warranty from Jerry Johnson in a few months. BTW, you can buy a Toyota Ext Wty up until your 3/36 expires...only thing you have to deal with is a possible price increase. Jerry also sells the extended maintenance plan that pays for service appts up to 75K, which is different from an extended warranty - so make sure you get the plan you want.
