Any Reason NOT to get Shrockworks Sliders/TE Rocker trim?

I was able to get the first bolt started at the front of the truck, I then moved to the back and found it was one of those holes with not threads. They did send "Stick Nuts" but I am having so much trouble getting that in there.

I installed my a few weeks ago. It can be a PITA. There were a few times that I thought I was in over my head. The stick nuts aren't so bad once you figure them out. You need to find a access hole in the frame near the bolt hole. Most of the time you need to remove a plastic cover in the frame to expose the nearby bolt hole. Then just bend the flexible tin extension welded to the nut and fish it through the access hole until it lines up with the bolt hole. It helps to have an extra pair of hands. It's not too hard once you understand the mechanics of what you are doing. And by all means make sure your gas tank is as empty as possible. My last suggestion is to buy a couple of 1 1/2" length 3/8" bolts. I needed one to reach one of the stick nut holes, and it's a lot easier with a bit longer bolt. No judgement if you get someone to install them. I was almost there. But if you have a weekend, climb under and give it a try. Either way you will love them.

I would imagine you want to make sure all bolts are in, for example the poster above showing the passenger side support not attached. My instructions said I would have to drill a hole for a bolt there, seems important if I were to be jacking up the truck with the slider.

Agree. I will have to get a bolt in there...the gap and the other side pissed me off so stepped away. That was about 8-10 months ago, guess I should get back to it. [emoji848]

I can attest that they still do an excellent job as a slider before you drill and add that bolt. :biggrin2:

Just got an email update last night that my sliders should be delivered by the end of the day today. For those who are counting that's 8 weeks and 3 days from order placement to delivery. Since everything I've read/seen says their lead time is 6-8 weeks I'd say that falls in line. I do admit that I wish they would have contacted me after order placement with at least one order status update with an estimated delivery date. They didn't respond to my email inquiry but they did give me a two week window to expect shipment when I called them. Not bummed about it but it's nice to know whats going on when $900 is floating around.

I'll update once unboxing and installation begins. Let the modding FINALLY begin! :bravo:

Let me first start by saying that I'm a child and cannot control myself when it comes to new toys. I didn't take a single picture during unboxing or installation because I tore into the packaging like a kid at Christmas and with all impatience of a virgin on his wedding night. Next thing you know, BOOM! Installation complete.

I did find the instructions to be very useful and pretty straight forward. I had a second set of hands which was very useful. All in all I'm very happy with the quality of both the step sliders and the TE rocker trim. The textured powder coating looks great and provided significant grip when the sliders are wet. I got to test that out in a thunderstorm shortly after I finished the install. Welds look great. Everything on the sliders looks great, in fact. Plenty of room for use as a step getting in and out for everyone. My wife loves them and my kid loves them.

A little bummed with the rocker trim in two places. One is the end near the rear wheel well. They just look abrupt and unfinished. I knew what I was getting into in that respect so I can hardly complain about it. Second is the area right behind the cap for the front wheel well. There's a gap between the cap and the start of the rocker trim where the pinch weld and fender attachment point is exposed. Looking at it I understand why it is left uncovered but I think more could have been done to blend the two areas together cleanly. Having a silver paint uncovered between two pieces of black trim sticks out like a sore thumb. None of the available pictures of the trim from Shrock Works show this area and I think that was done purposefully. It's not terrible but it does draw the eye to the area. I expect more attention to detail.

Still, I'm very happy. I would go the exact same route again if I needed to. I'll take some pictures once I have a chance to get her cleaned up and presentable. Next up 6112/5160 with superflex coils and 285 KO2s!

I love my ShrockWorks sliders, skids, and front bumper for my 2014 TE. Yes, I waited. The powder coating is vastly superior to many other companies. I could always call and talk to someone if I needed, but I had no need. They are a quality company.

As promised here are some pictures of the installed sliders and TE rocker trim. Like I said of the trim, it does look a bit unfinished but all in all I'm still very happy with them and the craftsmanship. Notice the area just I front of the front door opening and the area around the rear of the rear door opening.
