Any reviews of the new Bilstein 6112's?

It is. Only problem is booking a time, there's always at least a three week wait to get in because it's so popular. Other shops in the area usually fit you in in a day or two.

But back on topic.... I'll be installing 5100's with OME 883's and T12's tomorrow. This will be my first foray into Billy territory but it's good know these 6112's could be another option if I'm not satisfied.
I put OME 883 front, 995E back and 5100 set to lowest setting on my 03 4R recently. Sourced from Toytech. The ride is AMAZING compared to what it was. So much smoother and no sag in the back with a heavy load. Spent a week near Lake City, CO off roading it and never hit bottom and could go 2x faster than with original setup.

I've been looking at the 6112/ 5160 combo as well. Has anyone used a different sprig rate to achieve the 2.5" of like WITHOUT. Compressing the spring? Ome 885 and 5100's are what I used on my 2010 Tacoma with the same height as a stock spring set on notch 3...

I'd be interested to hear the answer to this as well.

Coming from the 6112/5160 thread in 5th Gen, the 5160 only has a 90 day warranty on them (5100s are lifetime), and they apparently have a tendency to leak. People like them, but if something happens, you're SOL. YMMV, I figured I would just share what I've read over there.

I wonder if it's worth going with Icon shocks in the rear instead of 5160, they're comparable in price and may not have the reliability issues the 5160 have?

I'd really prefer Bilstein front and rear...

Thanks for the heads up. Tentatively planning on this point on going using OME nitro shocks and OME 886 but open to other options (like the 6112's maybe?)

Between the leaking issues, 90 day warranty, and the price are some of the reasons I went with Fox on the rear of my 4th gen. I could've gone with Icon just as well but the Fox shocks I went with are an inch or so longer (poor mans mid-travel setup) than the Billies or Icons. I'm happy so far.

As for the front, if I ever finish the front bumper and install the winch, I'll probably swap out the 600 lb springs the 6112's come with and go with some 700 lb springs to help carry the additional weight.

I was not able to get my 6112s assembled with the "no spring compressor method" at the 4th notch. The 3rd notch would have worked. I had a friend's shop do it in about 15 minutes. Pep boys will do strut assembly for $20 each. I called an independent performance shop next to my house and they wanted 2hrs labor ($130)!

Guess what! Bilstein has updated the 6112 for the 4runner and has released new 3rd Gen Coilovers, part number 47-258624. Want them? I know where to get them.

We finally came out with a few more 6112 Kits including the one for your truck. We are also releasing a revised 4th & 5th gen 4Runner which has staggered snap ring grooves, plus we are releasing a 3rd gen 4 Runner 6112 kit.

Looks like several have already switched to the 6112's. Would love to hear about your experience for both on and off road performance.

It sounds like the ticket con what I read earlier in this thread.

Anyone running this set up with 5100s in the rear?

Its one of our most popular combos. They work great together.

We should have the new 6112 in stock in 2-3 weeks. We are stocked up on the current model and there is no performance difference other than the extra height settings for those who dont want to wait :)
