I bought my 2010 4runner SR5, and I'm fairly happy with it, but I feel like I would trade this one in and get a new one if they brought back some of the features I miss, and some that I hope they introduce.
As most people do, I hope there is a v8 option on the (hopeful) 2013 refresh. Although I've read conflicting rumors as to whether the Sequoia is discontinued, I'm hoping they at least push a v8 option to the t4r. (that's a lot of hope on a v8!)
One feature I *really* miss is the auto closing rear gate. I hate that I have to stop, slam it, and then pick up whatever I had in my hands. Honestly, this is the most annoying loss of features.
Doubtful that we'll see an integrated antenna into the glass again, since it would require a refresh on a body panel, and that doesn't seem as likely.
The dash kit from Metra is ok, but I miss the gen4 ease of install for aftermarket stereos. I look at the Metra dash kit and I'm just disappointed in how "unfactory" it looks. I know this isn't a refresh idea, but perhaps future dash kit manufacturers (if there would even be one) might suck less.
I miss the digital temp controls. I feel cheap and well, just cheap with a couple of knobs.
In the back, I miss the covers for the storage area. I keep a bit of rope, some bungis, and a few other things around, and they look junky.
