Contemplating buying an aftermarket front bumper down the road...just curious how much abuse peoples bumper have taken haha. Post pics/stories. :thumb3:

I have some pretty good 'wear' in the powder coating on the corners of my ARB from getting too close to trees and running through thick brush on the trails. The factory bumper probably wouldn't look too good now.

I hit a Christmas tree stump first going about 55+ mph. Stump smacked right into the skid plate in my tube bumper and shattered. I would hate to see what would have happened with a factory bumper.

Also once my front cv broke on a trail and my front bumper was pinned against a tree. Turned the wheel, and went straight. The bumper slid across the tree and pushed me out of harms way without any body damage. Again, would of hated to see this with a factory bumper.

Had a TJM that took a pretty good beating in an accident. The bumper was fine but I destroyed the mounting brackets. Have an ARB now. The most abuse its had was a brush against a garbage can. It left a scuff mark.

lol so uh, someone crashed a Mercedes into my truck. It was the back bumper, but it was plate, so I'd imagine the front would do similar damage

Mercedes... Ouch.

I wish I had pictures of my 4xInnovations tube bumper before I got rid of the truck... The bottom bar had rock rash literally all the way around it. It was designed perfectly to be a ramp up a rock face when needed.

This is what happens when a nimrod turns left in front of you at 45-50 mph...:crutch::uzi:

I hit a semi truck with my 4xInnovations front bumper tiny dent by the winch port and my light bar mounts snapped (Chinese crap...) but other than that nothing happened.

Jeff's (the owner of Badland Bumpers) daughter took his 1st gen Tacoma out braffing at night on their property and forgot about this 10ft ditch. Apparently she aired a bit, landed nose first in the ground and then flopped onto the top of the truck. She was fine, Taco was totaled. I saw the truck itself when I first went there to talk about building a bumper for me. The Badlands bumper that was on it was still in perfect condition. I was sold.

the car did not belong to him, it was inventory

Ouch. Not a good day for him, but I guess better that it was inventory and not a customer's car.

I suppose i should also point out I that 4x has great customer service. I took the bumper to them and they beat out the dent to make it look new for FREE!!!

I had 300 saved for bush guard... time to start saving for real stuff. Thanks for sharing everyone. Definitely worth it.

Question: How much one can fetch from selling original bumper?

If it's in good condition, you should be able to get at least $200 for it. If it has the stock fogs in it, yank those out and sell them separately. You can get another $75-100 for them.
