Anybody here NOT like their N-FAB Nerf boards?

N-fab nerf barfs
I thought they looked nice on other people's rigs but not so sure I like them now. Although they do look much better than the OEM running boards that I used to have, I'm less impressed now that they are on my truck. Wish I would have just got sliders like I had originally planned. For what it's worth, I thought mine looked best without any running boards/sliders but that just isn't practical with my grandson and the old ones we haul around.
Functionally, they are marginally more difficult to use than the OEM boards.
Mainly/totally an aesthetic thing.

I am not sure how you will be using your T4R, but be aware, these (& all) N-Fab bars, steps, nerf's, whatever one wants to call them, are not bolted to the frame but to the pinch and offer no protection if you off-road. They will become a damage multiplier.
If you don't off-road, then you will probably be fine with them.
Disclaimer:
I looked into them, but when speaking to them on the phone, this is what I was told about fastening to the pinch only.... no frame fastening!

Like he said, not only no protection but worse than nothing if you wack them on a rock. They bolt to sheet metal.

I'm happy with mine - they do what I want and were a lot cheaper than real rock sliders. They are not sliders and will not protect your rig if you're rock crawling - and yes, they could multiply the damage if you hit a big rock. But they perform well as a step for shorter people and, IMHO, look pretty good. Most of my off road is on desert washboard, so they're fine for that. I'm 5'10" and usually do not use the step as it lifts me up too high and I have to duck my head in the doorway.

As far as running boards go, they are nice and bolt to the factory spots on the body; we install them at our dealership.
As for functionality/durability, they are running boards not sliders.

I like mine. I think they make it look more aggressive and you are prepared for short folks. I'm not super interested in extreme wheeling so I don't care too much about the protection.
I also like how there's only steps where they're needs to be (at the door openings) as opposed to factory running board being wheel to wheel.

I wanted a pair for the longest time. I got some for a great deal on Amazon and painted them with truck bed liner to take care of the rust concerns I've read about. I was disappointed when I put them on. I agree with whoever said it above, they look nice on other peoples rides, but it made my 4Runner look pretty low.
With that being said, I have a minor scratch on door plastic fender trim and not a giant ass dent/scratch on the door because I hit a pole while not paying attention in a parking lot. Just bent the step a little, no bid deal.
I took them off the other day and loved the look when they were off again. So I'm keeping them off for now, but my wife already complains about being able to get in. I have a mild lift on mine. 10mm spacers back and .85 on bilsteins up front.

I dig mine. They work really well as "SIDE STEPS" but if you plan on serious off roading - perhaps a slider with a kick out and grip tape applied to it would be a better option. The n fabs install very easily, they look very aggressive & they follow the body lines of our trucks really well. I live in the dry AZ desert so rust will never be an issue for me. After my research, I found that they were my favorite "non-slider, side step" option. This is my wife's DD and soon to be kid/kids hauler.

I love the way they look and almost pulled the trigger on some but I actually want something that is functional... IE sliders

I thought I saw in one of your posts that you coated the NFabs with rattle can bed liner. Did it hold up or do you think the paint on would be better.

Yep. This is why I haven't gone this route.
I actually like the way they look - but I was concerned with long term functionality.
I really don't plan to be in any situations where I'd need sliders, but I figure if I am gonna spend the cash on something, I might as well get something that may actually serve as some protection if I should need it.
