Anybody here NOT like their N-FAB Nerf boards?

If I had done my research & not have a "YOLO" impulse buy moment, I probably would have not got them and went straight to sliders. Don't get me wrong, they definitely serve their purpose as a step, but when going off road, I do see potential problems when it comes to some difficult trails.

For what they are worth, they look cool & serves great as a step.

Personally, i've decided to take them off and put them for sale and purchase some sliders in the near future. Message me if interested!

I really don't plan to be in any situations where I'd need sliders, but I figure if I am gonna spend the cash on something, I might as well get something that may actually serve as some protection if I should need it.

I don't think many people plan on being in a position where their sliders save their ass. I got them because I am not the best off road driver yet, and can envision a simple mishap occurring where I would seriously regret not having them.

I think they are probably the single most important piece of protection, as I doubt you'll actively drive over something that is too tall and blast your skid into it. But, you may get your tire on something that will bust up a rocker when you come off the other side.

The nice part is that sliders (depending on brand) can also function as steps.

That said, steps cannot function as sliders.

I think they serve a great purpose and look pretty cool so long as that most of your driving is on-road.

But if you plan on taking it off road, going straight to sliders would be your best bet for the added protection + having a step on some models.

Mine came with the rigid running boards, so I'm good with the functionality aspect right now but will be looking into sliders soon. Funny thing is the Expedition Overland guys seem to be still using the rigid running boards on their adventures - I don't think i'll be doing anything near what they are so these might be good enough after all!

And that's what I was figuring (using them as steps). My wife isn't too happy about the seemingly ever increasing height of the ingress/egress! Haha

You definitely need to consider what you're going to be driving on. If you're in a sandy area and will only really be going off road on the beach, sliders are definitely not worth it for ya.

I have RCI sliders, and they work great as steps. There are some other brands that are even bigger in the step department too. Check the "consolidated slider" thread.
