Anybody running 245/75r17 tires?

I like a narrower tire and they have this size in stock at the local tire shop in load range E Duratracs. They are the same height as the 265/70r17's but one inch narrower

If anybody is running this size please let me know and I would love to hear your thoughts.

This makes no sense? I spend a lot of time off road and prefer a narrower tire. I know this size is popular on the Tacomas and was looking for people with experience with this tire size on the 4Runners

Not any I've seen. Do what you'd like but I'd just stick with the factory size if you don't want to add height.

I think some guys are running 255/80/17's.

I'm running 255/75/17 on my 4th generation 4runner and its a perfect size for it. Virtually no MPG hit either and looks great too. Plus they do very darn good off road as well. Just took my 4runner to Moab, UT and anything I threw at it it performed flawlessly. No rubbing at all either.

With the 5th gen 4runner 255/80/17 I would run. Search [MENTION=58068]Narkhelek[/MENTION] user name, he is running this size.

Honestly 255's are the narrowest tire I would go. Anything under that it will look very very odd. One time I saw a 4th gen 4runner that had 235's on. It was tiny and looked horrible!

When measured my 255's were actually wider than my stock 265 tires. So they are called a skinny tire but when I measured them by hand they were wider.

When I first installed the 255/80-17 KM2s I thought they looked kind of funny and they appeared smaller than my previous 285/70-17 Duratracs even though they are actually a bit taller. Now that I've gotten use to them I really like the way they look. They have handled great so far. Will be interesting how they handle winter though.
