Anyone Else Drive In Fear?

Yep, see my post from just a day or so ago.

My mech did mine with Aisin which is also a direct OEM manufacturer for Toyota but they do differ from the OEM and now I'm stuck wondering what to do exactly. I'd agree, just get OEM in the Toyota packaging and know for sure.

I'm glad to hear it. I have one question. Why did you not supply those awesome snowy pics in the calendar thread? Truck looks great. Can I stash them in the calendar bucket for next year?

"Only use OEM" is the advice you're going to get from everyone here.

Long story short, I believe it was determined that since Sankei was at one time an OEM approved brand, the quality should be acceptable... but if you can afford current OEM then buy current OEM.

Really? You think all the scarring on the ball like that- without even any load on it- is acceptable?
I know this LBJ stuff has been beat/discussed to death, so I'm not trying to get into a huge discussion. Just thought it was an obvious manufacturer to satay away from, and wondering if there is something I am missing.

I certainly wouldn't consider that particular example as acceptable, nor would I personally attempt to use the non-OEM part I need the first place. The gist of that thread was that he had gotten a bad example (whatever that means) and most others were fine with what they got. I would only recommend using current OEM parts though, as I'm sure most of us would.
